Hey, how about Bachmann and Santorum. They are solid Tea Party Conservatives. If you would get behind these folks and stop Whinning, they would move up in the polls, IMHO

It's not the people's job to sell themselves on any particular candidate. That's the candidate's job. For whatever reasons, Bachmann and Santorum haven't made the sale to the voters.

Personally, I think it's time for someone who has made the sale with the voters to step into the race. Someone who has no skeletons lurking in the closet, and who's got a record of accomplishment and the right ideas for turning this country around.

That person would run away with the nomination.

"I guess it's time to go buy some rolling papers and get behind Gary Johnson!"

It was one of those great lines where first you appreciate the genius of it, then laugh out so heartily I spooked the dog...

—The United States of America has proven time and time again what a resilient nation of people we are. We’ve not only survived a Revolutionary War, an extremely bloody Civil War, a Great Depression, World Wars I & II, a Cold War, and 9/11, but we’ve emerged stronger than ever before after each of these challenges. —

As a nation, we left God after all those challenges.

This is the US today:

The country does not have the character it did before Johnson’s “Great Society”. The proof is that we did NOT emerge stronger than ever after 9/11. We lost our freedom. I say that as a frequent flyer. The nation is still divided. Sadly.

From what I can tell, chris37, perhaps you need to join the enemy then. You certainly do not appear to, at the least, want to fight against them. I will never give up hope. I will never stop fighting against what they wish to do to this country. What I find interesting is the comments against Newt from people who support Cain whereby they decry things Newt has done in the past, but are perfectly willing to either ignore or forgive the same behavior (apparently) from Cain - and, his behavior, if true, is recent. Again, I see this as pathetic.

Yep, they never, ever learn.

Perhaps they will learn in the communist re-education camps, but I doubt it.

—Remember, if nothing else, you’re voting against Obama.—

Not if Romney is the candidate. I could never bring myself to actually vote “for” Obama, but I would come very close by not voting for Romney. I’d rather have four more years of Obama. At least he’ll drag down the democrats along with the country. Romney would drag down the Republicans along with the country.

I agree with you.

I think also that some of the candidates and would be candidates have received very serious threats of bodily harm.

You won’t hear a negative word about Cain from me. I would vote for him in a New York Minute, but not sure if he is going to stay in the race or not.

—Thus, I continue to remain positive, upbeat, and vigilant despite the current dismal state of the nation.—

I do to, but that is in the context of the final end of Bible prophesy. ;-)

Regarding the nation, I defer to what I heard a pastor say about 25 years ago: “Where would the early church have been if they had put their faith in Rome?”

Countries come and go. This one had a good run.

I don’t think Sarh is coming back. The media, the Democrat Party, the Republican Party, and members of this forum have done a good job of beating her up. The Republicans will now focus on which of the two media and Republican Beltway approved candidates, [to wit] Newt or Rommney gets the nod. It matters not to the media which one it is, the hit pieces and scandles have already been written and rehearshes, they only need to be printed and filed.

A moral compass matters. How people behave in their “personal” lives bleeds into their “public” life. There are no compartments. People who lie, cheat, steal, engage in illicit activities in their “off time” are untrustworthy in their public time.

It’s really quite simple.

Cain never sat on a couch with Nazi Poosi and and lectured me about Glowbull Warming.

Do you know how easy it was to destory Gingrich? Three words: Contract on America. That’s all it took.

I do intend to fight the enemy, just not with republicans, because I’d rather not be stabbed in my back while marching forward.

It looks like I don’t have a candidate right now. I could have supported Bachmann if she had any chance.
