Looks like Newt picked up most of his gain from Cain and Perrys supporters ... two of the more conservative candidates in the race. Therefore, Newt is attracting conservative support and should be considered the conservative alternative to Romney.

Sort of like how Romney was considered the "conservative" alternative to McCain last time.
