Feisty Cain presses ahead with bid
SantaCruz Sentinel ^ | 11/30/11 | DAN SEWELL Associated Press

Posted on 11/30/2011 3:01:02 PM PST by mdittmar

His campaign rocked anew, a feisty Herman Cain claimed a "groundswell of positive support" from backers on Wednesday and accused critics of trying to derail his White House bid as he worked to stem the fallout from allegations of a 13-year extramarital affair.

"They're attacking my character, my reputation and my name in order to try to bring me down," a feisty Cain told a friendly crowd without naming his critics. "But, you see, I don't believe that America is going to let that happen."

Questions about the campaign's viability hovered over Cain's one-day bus tour through Ohio.

It came a day after the candidate told staff he was reassessing his campaign after Ginger White, an Atlanta businesswoman, alleged in media interviews that she and Cain had a long-running sexual affair.

"We are reassessing as we speak. Reassessment means reevaluation," Cain told reporters Wednesday after his well-received speech to roughly 150 people in a hotel meeting room. He gave no indication to the audience that he was considering abandoning his bid despite telling staff that he would make a decision in the next few days about whether to continue it.

Cain received a standing ovation after he spoke about what a "Cain administration" would do. And he said that while some people predicted that the room would be empty, "I don't see any empty seats."

The public at large sees this for what it is; an attempt to silence a conservative Black man who’s far more competent than the current occupier of the WH. It hasn’t shaken my support, and I know I’m not alone.

About the only thing his detractors haven’t tried, is to bring forth little eight year old boys who remember Cain doing something naughty to them 12 years ago.

I’m pleased by this. I’ve never been 100% behind Mr. Cain’s candidacy - don’t agree with him on everything, concerns about inexperience - but I think he’s very interesting. The accusations against him do not concern me. I do not believe them.

I would like all of us to have the opportunity to vote for him, if we decide he’s the best choice for the nominee. I hope to see him on the ballot in July, or whenever the freep they have the NC primary this time.

Ms. White might be telling the truth. None of us know for sure, but “Hell hast no fury like a woman scorned”.

I’ve been around long enough that a married man will nearly always lie, and the stupid woman is left holding the bag even if she is legit.

Of course it could be true. However, why is it horrible for Cain who MIGHT have cheated on his wife once and not Newt who cheated on his different wives many times. They sure didn’t care that Clinton had a ton of affairs. That is my main problem with this. I don’t like people cheating on their wives/husbands, but lets be consistent about it.

Notice how the MSM has re-defined the word “re-assess” to mean “QUITTING” or “ABANDONING” or “LEAVING IN DISGRACE”.

And the word “re-assess” is now pronounced in the same somber tone of voice normally reserved for celebrity deaths.

"While diplomacy is a critical tool in solving the complex security issues we face, it must never compromise military might. Because we are such a free and prosperous people, we are the envy of the world. Many regimes seek to destroy us because they are threatened by our ideals, and they resent our prosperity.

We must acknowledge the real and present danger that terrorist nations and organizations pose to our country's future. Terrorists only have one objective, namely, to kill all of us. "

Clinton and Obama can cheat and still be “great Presidents.” (according to their fans the MSM)

If Herman did stray from his marriage, why would he be unable to compartmentalize the way the liberal cheaters can? At least Herman sticks to the opposite sex.

I only want Cain to say something that stops all further queries. Something like “a candidate’s sex life doesn’t seem to be a problem, unless he has an R by his name” or something. It is so unfair and he could shine a light on this media practice.

So, give us the wording of one of these spicy text messages Ms. White! Certainly you must have one that would prove something. I mean you are identified as a "businesswoman". The press wouldn't lie, now would they?

The press insists that Cain was in a “sexual relationship for 13 years” with this lady. In fact, from what I can see neither has ever said sex was involved, in fact both have denied it was a sexual deal.

That is to say, he knew her for 13 years as a friend and nothing more.

What’s the deal?

Much ado about nothing.
