Has a temper and a smart snarky tongue which lashes out at the list bit of criticism from anyone. Even when the criticism is real and justified.

Now that is how I perceive Newt Gingrich....you, of course, have the right to disagree.
I see him that way too, but narcissism is almost a prerequisite for politicians who aspire to high office. Decent people who accurately assess what the job demands and what they can bring, will almost always turn away.
A cop has to pass a psych screening test in most cities. Politicians who are far more powerful? Nothing, except the election ordeal itself.
