Yes, the texts could have added up as you suggest, but we don't know that.
Any way you parse these phone contacts, it doesn't quite pass the smell test IMHO.
And what about those middle of the night contacts? To me it indicates that the woman assumed a level of intimacy with a man that one would only have with a husband or brother - or someone she had had a sexual relationship with.
But like with Clinton, it's not the sex that I personally care about. I care that Cain has now gone on record to say the sex did not happen.
I don't think it can every be proven, one way or the other, without a blue dress. But if a Love Child appears (either from Ginger White or from anyone else) then that's proof. It's the possibility that he lied that bothers me.
And I don't consider him lying to have not told his wife about this woman or the financial support. I don't talk about every relationship I have with people, especially if I think it might cause unnecessary worry or suspicion on my spouse's part. Note I said unnecessary worry or suspicion — meaning, there is nothing to worry about, there is no affair going on, no reason to be upset, but human nature might cause a person to be suspicious merely because the other person is “your type” or is “attractive” or is “overly flirty” etc.
But if he had a sexual affair, then he lied to his wife and family, and he has now lied to all of us. That's a tough one.
So I am anxiously awaiting the outcome of this weekend, his pow-wow with his family, and anything Lin Wood comes up with over the next few weeks.
