Herman Cain, the insurgent populist whose candidacy has been ensnared by allegations of sexual impropriety, said Saturday that he is leaving the race for the Republican presidential nomination, saying that the allegations have cast a "cloud of doubt over me and this campaign."
"As of today, with a lot of prayer and soul searching, I am suspending my presidential campaign," he said at an event in Atlanta. "I am suspending my presidential campaign because of the continued distraction, the continued hurt . . . on me, on my family, not because we are not fighters, not because I am not a fighter."
Cain's campaign had sent mixed signals as to his future since Ginger White, an Atlanta woman who claims to have had an affair with Cain for more than a decade, went public with her story earlier this week. While Cain has said he has been "reassessing" his candidacy, he also, at times, has been fiercely defiant, suggesting that unnamed enemies have been trying to do him in and vowing to press forward.
"The pundits would like for me to shut up, drop out and go away," he said. "I am not going to be silenced, and I am not going away."

Agree. Some may say it's merely a matter of style, but no. This is a race, and good sportsmanship means you don't shove into your competitors, or sucker punch them. And she does seem way too soft on Romney.

The democrat fascist thugs just can’t give up their love of lynching black men. They’ve been at it for a hundred and fifty years at least and they’re going to continue doing it as long as they have any power of any kind. When a black man speaks out against the welfare plantation system whether he was one of the field hands on the dole or one of the overseers in the party, or even a free black man who would never bow to the democrat party in the first place, the democrat party will hound such runaways to their graves. Any black man or woman who ever once dares to speak up against the democrat fascist nobility that has run the democrat party since it was formed is targeted for one form of attack or another . The democrat party has been dedicated to racism, slavery, and elimination of the Constitution so it can be replaced by the whims of a ruling fascist nobility ever since it was founded and nothing has changed since.

Now that Herman has bowed out, I’ll fall back to the candidate who was, and remained, my first prior to Herman’s rise in the polls: Rick Santorum. I truly believe that he is the only principled candidate left.
But barring a last-minute miracle, I know he won’t win the nomination. He’ll be going neck-and-neck with Huntsman, not Romney and Gingrich. We may as well say hello to Nominee Newt.

Herman is the only candidate I’ve sent money to so far. But I guess if he’s not willing to fight for himself when the sledding gets a little rough he’s probably not going to fight for the rest of us (US) when the red phone rings. I want someone who can bark, bite, and pull the trigger when necessary. My old buddy Sergeant Fowler preached “-—be prepared, Be alert, be polite, be professional-—and be prepared to kill the next person you meet.” That’s good advise for a President. Maybe I have to do this myself? Not as good as I once was but I’m as good once as I ever was. I sure am getting tired of hearing jawbones rattle without spitting out specific proposals and campaign planks.

Hey D1.... Hope yer doing well. Just a quick rant from me.
Not saying guilty or not guilty in this case as I have not followed the soap opera in this event closely. That said .... when one runs for political office they have to know what mistakes they have made and when in life before they do such.
Mere fabrication an accusations can be dealt with as a he said she said etc...
Vetting ones personal, business and political record of events is MANDATORY for POTUS.
For example I helped a person get elected locally as her handler . manager and we set down and discussed from birth to current events in her life with her parents and husband. We had complete tax records, names of past employees, disgruntled or not. School records, friends and enemies etc and got her friggin ducks in a row and when the mud started slinging as it does IN ALL POLITICAL RACES she made her opponent look like the liar and fool he was with facts and copies of her records for the folks on hand.
I would suggest to anyone that can not counter any such event or accusations of improper behavior ethics etc with facts , times, dates and reliable witnesses to think twice before entering a local dog catcher or presidential race.
It will get ugly and you, your family, friends, coworkers etc have to be ready for trash being dropped on you and yours 24/7 by the opponents “machine”.......
My Opinion based on my experience in a small local election....
I hope Mr Cain’s just “suspending” his campaign for a while versus leaving / quitting all together.

Bachmann? she attacked Palin, Cain and Perry. She is considering Trump as her VP. Bachmann stated Cain’s 999 is more like a 666 plan. Not to mention she has alot of veterans angry with her
tagline change.
