Romney is wrong on the issues, though. What is disturbing about Romney is that while the conservatives are running circles around him, he does nothing to try to appeal to the conservative base. He apparently doesn’t mind blowing off the conservatives. And that makes me think he will govern from the left, which is the last thing we need.
In the sense that Romney has his act together and Newt is a total mess, yes.
In matters of faith, Romney is a life-long member of his church and has a record of many years of service to it.

Both Romney and Newt share the believe that government is the solution. That all we need is to “fix” the system and make it work better.
They are different faces of the same corrupt static Politics as Usual Establishment coin.

Worse, Romney was an abortion/gay rights advocate and was actually responsible for installing homosexual marriage, tax payer funded abortion and big government mandated socialized healthcare on his watch. Romney was architect and advocate of liberal big government programs while Gingrich was architect and advocate of the small government Reagan Revolution!Romney crossed the aisle and built a consensus with Ted Kennedy and the liberal Democrats and installed wall to wall liberal programs, liberal judges and liberal appointees. Gingrich aligned himself with Ronald Reagan to build the Reagan Coalition and engineer the Reagan Revolution and the long lasting Reagan economy.
Krauthammer/Rove be damned. If it comes down to “I was an independent during Reagan-Bush, I’m not returning to Reagan-Bush” Romney vs the “Contract with America” Gingrich, I’m going with Gingrich every time."

Oh, terrific...a true dilemma: two choices, both bad.
I have never liked Mitt or agreed with him because he has nothing within the political arena he's 100% for except winning an election. Guys just weird.
Whoulda thunk it ? /sarc.
I'll pick the Constitution party or the Libertarians, depending on who is less crazed.
Sorry, GOP. I didn't leave you, you left me.
