Bachmann is my ideological favorite, even more pure than Sarah Palin by maybe 10-15%
And she is very nice to look at it.
But she just doesn’t have “it”.
Newt does.
Sarah does.
Obama does..for his side.
Magnus did. Cheney did but never got to fully use it given a bad luck health card.
FDR had it. Clinton had it..perversely. Lincoln had it..whoops my dead CSA kin just rolled over..lol...
George Washington had it as did Jefferson and Franklin.
Jim DeMint has it. Haley Barbour has it. I think Ryan does.
Hitler grotesquely had it as did stellar Winston Churchill.
It’s an intangible. It’s like the old EF Hutton commerical. When you speak, all heads turn and get quiet and listen because you project to folks that they should pay attention to you.
My own father had it..as a leader.
It’s just a thing. It’s like watching Lee Marvin in a war movie. It looks real because it is real....
When Michelle stood on that stage she never stood out and seemed diminished...not because she is not worthy but she lacked that intangible.
Newt with all his flaws will never appear ineffective, lost for words, without purpose or scared. That does help.
Charisma. You are right. The frustrating thing about Bachmann is that as a legislator and Tea Party speaker she -did- have it! It evaporated as soon as she ran for POTUS. I hope she can find it again.
Listen to her here:

Why did she just not STOP at 38 seconds? The gratuitous add at the end made her finish up as inane and absurd, when her previous points were valid and her demeanor serious and compelling. A friend of mine is of the opinion that she is being sabotaged from within, but she is an attorney and -knows- she is responsible for her words.
I just don’t get it. I hope the old Michele comes back someday.
