If I had my way I would outlaw health insurance and force doctors and hospitals to accept what people could afford to pay.

Right, from each according to their ability to each according to their need. Yep, that should work!

Doctor = serf. I want to see a doctor that doesn’t want to see me. Maybe I’ll bring a bottle of vodka and a box of chocolates.

That’s a rough slap...

I see a proposal to adopt direct negotiation and payment to the care provider — a private matter with no third party dictates.

I prefer all free-from-government options. That option in and of itself does not constitute Marxism, but rather a free market philosophy of direct negotiation.

It would still be better for a doctor than their ongoing and protracted attempts at extracting delinquent dimes from Medicare/Medicaid for services rendered.
