Gingrich Describes Palestinian People as 'Invented'
Fox News ^ | 12/10/2011 | Fox News

Newt Gingrich declared in an interview that Palestinians are an "invented" people, though his campaign afterward claimed the candidate still supports the establishment of a Palestinian state. The front-running Republican presidential candidate made the comments in an interview with The Jewish Channel. The interview marks some of the toughest language to date any candidate has used to describe the Middle East peace process. It also comes after Gingrich pledged at a forum earlier in the week that if elected, he would name John Bolton -- a hawkish, pro-Israel former U.N. ambassador who served in the George W. Bush administration -- as his secretary of state.

Many media heads are going to explode on this one. How dare anybody say anything critical or non-PC about the Palestinians. Facts be damn.

Newt is right about this one.

And his remark about picking John Bolton as SOS was smart.

Historically he is right. The old Roman term covered a majority of the middle-east but you don’t see other countries there giving up their land for ‘Palestine”. The recent ‘Palestinians” are refugees from Lebanon and Syria with modern ‘activists’ thrown in. If they were serious about ‘returning Palestine’, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan would all need to step up and give up their lands too.

He’s exactly right... they are invented, but why support a Palestian state?

Of course, they wouldn’t have any place that would welcome them, but I guess they could disguise themselves as Iranians.

Newt is pushing the right buttons. He improves his support on a daily basis. The base is clearly more anxious to hear someone who will fight than they ever will be about the PC ankle biters who are bent on hitting him rather than Obozo. This ought to really piss off the Newt will implode folks.

Newt will never be my first choice, but if he is willing to expand on this sort of truth and plainspeak, it will make the thought of pulling the lever (touching the screen) for him a bit easier.

Newt is 100% right. There is no such thing as a Palestinian people or even Palestinian culture. They are just plain old Arabs.

No, we are not an invented people. Does not a country called the USA exist? Show us where, at anytime in history a country called Palestine existed, especially when it existed exactly where Israel stands today. Since there was never a Palestine there never existed a Palestine people, therefore they are an invented people. Americans MADE their country and became Americans after the country was formed.

So if they have a country they will become a people?

FTA: “Gingrich pledged at a forum earlier in the week that if elected, he would name John Bolton — a hawkish, pro-Israel former U.N. ambassador who served in the George W. Bush administration — as his secretary of state.”

Okay, right there he got my support.

That's not quite what Newt said. He merely pointed out that the Palestinians were "invented". America and Americans were "invented" ~ actually several times, first, in the mind of King Philippe II/III of Spain as a sort of Protestant ghetto where he and his other Hapsburg relatives could send troublesome people from all over Europe.

Interesting concept. I'm still very much in awe of the King ~ this was divinely inspired.

Then, we were reinvented in about 1676, then again in 1775, then in 1861.

What I find interesting in this is the fact that the Palestinians can't bear the fact that their "nation hood" is a recent invention. They imagine it's an insult to live in an "invented" nation. We consider it a visible manifestation of God's Grace.

There's not going to be any communication with these people possible until they finally realize they owe it to the West for their liberation from the Ottoman Empire, and to America for their liberation from the British and French!

Actually, we were invented by King Philippe II/III (of Spain). It is an incontrovertible fact.

We weren't invented by anyone. You facts are BS. We were made but the British subjects who had had enough of King George. Our country exists therefore we are and we are not invented, this country was made not made up. Palestinians are a made up people, made up out of whole cloth with no history to back them up.

I would say you are either a muslim or a some other Jew hater.

Newt’s right on. They are but rejected Arabs and as pointed out their neighbors could easily give them land for their country. They’re a manufactured, financed populace.

You are so full of it. I had people here in 1598 ~ there presence was recorded, and they had names ~ Northern European names. They lived in Spanish North America. Then, King Philippe II/III divided the land among Spain, France (and in a separate codicil for Russia to be determined later). He set aside a portion of the land for "others" ~ that was the area from Nova Scotia in the North to Carolana in the South (present N/S Carolina). Eventually even Carolana came under English rule, but that didn't happen in 1604.

The English are Johnny Come Lately's to the Americas ~

BTW, Virginia counts its history from the very foundations of the first Spanish permanent campsites on the East Coast. We were a nation created by people who are themselves known to history. We invented ourselves ~

Calex59, AMERICANS believe that they created their nation ~ why you don’t want to believe that is a good question. Do you think somebody else did it?
