For the first time in the presidential primary campaign, Democrats are turning their web video and rapid response email attack machine on former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Just hours after the ABC News presidential debate in Iowa Saturday, the Democratic National Committee blasted the GOP front-runner in a 90-second ad, labeling him the original Tea Partier.

Sounds like they’re endorsing Gingrich to me?
We should snag it and run it ourselves! Hey, if everything in this ad is true, he’s got my vote!
Not all. Some are as badly misinformed as you.
Sorry to disagree with you, but I was around back when Old Newt had the Dem’s running scared. They used their media hacks to destroy what was started with the Contract with America, and also Newt personnaly. I’m going to have to agree with Berlin_Freeper on this one.
Really? Please show me where any of Newt's philosophies are in line with the yellow portion of this diagram.
And I don't disagree that Newt had the Dems running scared either, because I was around back then too. But that doesn't make Newt "a Tea Partyer", let alone "The First Tea Partyer". Newt is old DC Republican establishment, business as usual, my R team/their D team -- neither of which is the team of the American people. He made $1.6M peddling his Congressional influence to Freddie Mac -- who was then bailed out by us taxpayers. Sorry but that kind of selling to government may be legal, but it doesn't commend him in my book.
I have what may seem to be a silly question but I am going to ask it anyway:
"Does anyone here really think that Newt Gingrich is a good man?"
Alexis de Tocqueville, French 19th Century Historian once said: "America is great because she is good. If America ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."
Does Newt Gingrich really represent who we are and who we want to be as a country? Can you honestly look at this guy and say, "Yes. Newt is good. Newt is America. He represents who we are!" Because, from my perspective, if Newt really is "us", then we aren't much good anymore at all.
That is really dumb and desperate of you.
How about you go visit his webpage?
You got some nerve talking down Newt as a bad man.
You are the Jerk who sides with terrorists.
I thought this was a new commercial for the Gingrich campaign. I was surprised to see the DNC paid for it. Of course, no one ever accused Debbie Blabbermouth of being a genius.
You are a deranged person who has said that American Terrorists conducting war against the US should not be targeted.
Newt is 100% more Conservative than you are. You are a Liberaltarian. Do you think a Lib like you can give the measure of a man who has great accomplishments like Newt Gingrich?
You better go buy a clue.
When Ronald Reagan was in office, we looked to him and said, "Yes, Ronald Reagan is America. He is us!" Can you honestly do that with Newt? Because I can't.
I've even thought past the election, shaking my head imagining First Lady Callista -- the homewrecker -- do you really think that she can ever shake that one off, because I don't.
Who the hell do you think you speak for?
You are no Ronald Reagan that is for damn sure.
And I am no Newt Gingrich because he has done far better things than I could hope to get accomplished.
Seriously who the Hell do you think YOU are?
LoL!
Democrats and MSM will go after Newt the way they went after Cain. Newt has too much baggage. More than a few women probably will not be happy with Calista in the White House.
"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them. It is not to inaugurate new programs, but to cancel old ones that do violence to the Constitution, or that have failed their purpose, or that impose on the people an unwarranted financial burden. I will not attempt to discover whether legislation is "needed" before I have first determined whether it is constitutionally permissible. And if I should later be attacked for neglecting my constituents' "interests," I shall reply that I was informed that their main interest is liberty and that in that cause I am doing the very best I can."
Where do you see Newt Gingrich here? Or are you telling me that Barry Goldwater was not "a Conservative"?
A voter who thinks, and who speaks before this nomination because once we've got our guy, we are stuck with him against Obama.
And I have still yet to hear you say, "I think Newt is a good man because.. or he represents who we are because..." "Accomplished" means what? He worked and made money -- good for him, but what does that do for us? Is he a role model for your kids? Is he someone that we respect and trust?
And you've still never answered what about him is supposed to be "a Tea Partyer" based on that chart.
Answer this question - Are you a Libertarian?
I did say Newt is a good man, I said more than that, I said Newt is a better man than I am and we will do well to have him as President.
Are you sick in the head or what?
I want Newt for President but he is not a good man?
I believe everything that Barry Goldwater said right there, so you pick the title for it.
