“Democratic firm Public Policy Polling poll”, this is ALL you need to know about this “poll”!
Ron Paul, IIRC, always underperforms his poll numbers.
Probably because a large chunk of his supporters are too high to get up off their mom’s sofa, put down the bong, and go vote.
ppp = garbage and any poll that shows Paul at or near the top is most certainly garbage.
I will choose Ron Paul over filpfopping-pseudo conservatives Newt and Mitch.
They are going to keep attacking ANY frontrunner until they get Romney. The assault on Newt this week is really unbelievable. He was my third choice, but by God he’s better than Willard.
What’s in the memoranda here... Newt folks better band with Myth folks to avoid a paul? Sorry, No dice... let the myth folks come to Newt.
Who would do better against Obama?
Ron Paul isn’t a conservative, but he masquerades as one, especially at election time.
In a vacuum of real conservatism, in a market that deeply hungers for it, you’re likely to get the closest facsimile.
Either way, the Republican Party deserves everything it is about ready to get, because it has become unprincipled.
I hope and pray the republic can survive it all.
The conservatives Bachmann and Santorum combined around 19% so conservative wing of GOP still has a real chance.
There is no difference between Newt and Mitt and Paul has zero chance anyway. Maybe better Paul to win IA so ethanol subsidy & Amnesty hack Newt is damaged, then Bachmann or Santorum can sweep the south as the conservative alternative. Mitt can keep NH.
There is clearly a path for a conservative. In anycase, the biggest threat is amnesty. If GOP nominee is openly pushing some form of amnesty, it will be passed. Tea Partie shave no role in those negotiations and leftists courts and future admins will fine-tune it. Besides, local boards in CA would legalize 100M illegals who show some sort of shady evicence of being illegal long enough here.
We can try conservative once. We don’t have to push another compassionate establishment amnesty republican.
PPP = Republican Obama would most like to face in 2012 poll.
PPP is just trying to get Paul as many victories as they can. The Liberals are already plotting an “Operation Chaos” of their own, and planning to vote for Ron Paul in GOP Primaries.
That makes the election win/win for the Liberals.
The fact that so many here don't know what a conservative is gets us to this place. He/she is unelectable, so we must take the lesser of the two evils. hear that often enough and this is where you end up.
Gingrich describes himself, Realpolitik Wilsonian.
1. That’s a straw man.
2. Nobody I know of including myself is looking for the “perfect” conservative.
We do however take issue with those who claim to be or are labelled “Conservative” when clearly they are not.
Newt ain’t
Romney ain’t
Perry ain’t
Paul comes close...
The others do register in one or more areas...
Bottom line, this overall is not a good slate of candidates. THAT is the problem. The Republican establishment is doing everything they can to make it easy for the Democrat Party in the next election.
If the Democrat Party finds a way to eliminate Obama - the election becomes winnable for them.
If we have a “real” conservative as the nominee - we win no matter what the Democrat Pary does.
=8-)
Remember PaulBots are NATORIOUS “Ballot-Box-Stuffers”!
Not one vote has been cast. Maybe folks should worry about supporting a strong conservative candidate rather than bandwagoning behind whoever is winning this weeks popularity contest.
Then, when an actual nominee seems to be emerging we can decide who to rally behind.
The Democrats love Paul. He is more like them than a conservative!!!
Note: This is the result of weekend polling.
Could this be why Paul is rising in the polls? On air in Iowa.

The IA race is now hand to hand. If you want Newt to win then you all better get you butts off of the net and go to IA...
I have been saying for some time that Ron Paul has an excellent chance of winning in Iowa. It will be his first and last win, it will hurt Newt some but the worst effect will be to encourage this tired old man to run as a third party candidate. He certainly has the ability to pull 5% or more of the GOP vote to himself. That is likely to be the difference between an Obama defeat and an Obama victory.
