Jews do not fear gun and religion clinging conservatives of any kind. They fear the envious left which has set out to kill them off many times. Because they are greatly outnumbered they use the strategy of befriending the green eyed monster, so that they might be eaten last. The enemies of the beast become their claimed enemies, especially if there is no price to pay for doing so.

You can say the same thing about Liberals in general concerning Islam - especially the Hollywood types - who will be the first to suffer their demise under Sharia law.

Under historical Muslim rule, Jews tended to be oppressed and occasionally killed, but the Muslim rulers didn't have that much interest in converting them (preferring the jizya tax on infidels to having another Muslim). Thus, they did not disturb the power structure of Jewish leadership. At least, that's my theory.
