The only way this will happen is if the Republican establishment can’t get Mitt Romney past first base. Then they will look for another option and appear to be floating the Jeb Bush trial balloon.

Meanwhile the pummeling of Newt continues and anyone who dares rise above Mitt will get the same treatment. IMHO those who thinks at this point in time that Newt is part of the Republican establishment must be part of them or a damn fool.

Straw man. Nobody thinks Newt is PART of the Republican establishment; they just think Newt shares too many of the underlying assumptions held by establishment Republicans, including the desirability of a massive centralized Federal Government.

Right now the establishment GOP are splitting the Republicans between Conservative (which I thought the GOP stood for) and the Moderates (which I think are Democrate lite). I heard Rush say Mitsy’s claim to be a moderate.

Newt may not be the pet of the Republican establishment but he is not part of the conservative movement or Tea Party either.
