Sad news, folks.
I received a Tea Party email promoting Newt on December 6, well before this last debate.
The lightweight and newbies have started endorsing either Mittens or Newtems.
The establishment is offering carrots and sticks. The prospect of a political career with Republican party backing, or being left out in the cold.
Some of the Tea Party official groups that I get emails from are showing that they’re becoming simply an arm of the establishment.
Whatever, dudes, I’m not listening any more to the “organizers”.
Seems for the last 2 years they loved Michele in Congress fighting their battles.
Now, when it comes down to it, principles don’t matter, getting a President elected is what matters.
What good can Tea Party Congress members do if the establishment takes the WH and we’re down to what ? Maybe a couple dozen of the whole 2010 “freshman class” of Reps is not bought off at this point, worrying about their re-election and obeying their establishment “mentors” so they can “make a difference” “down the road”.
Didn’t they see Mr. Smith Goes to Wash ? Can’t they see they’re going to wind up being Claude Rains ? And that there is NO POINT.
If we wanted a bought-off party-establishment horse-trader - WE WOULD NOT HAVE NEEDED TO HAVE THE TEA PARTY OF 2010.
There were rumors a year ago that Mitts minions were infiltrating the Tea Party. There are only two candidates who have the money to peddle influence, and one who has made a career of it.
All I can say is, follow the money.
Which candidates have the most money in their war chest?
“...getting a President elected is what matters.”
That is the main point.
What passes for “principles” generally is confusion and irrationality and has nothing to do with principles. There is nothing above beating Obama and no amount of sanctimonious breast-beating will change that.
