"the father (KIS) was truly loved", but the son (KJI) is "not loved, just feared only".

That's what I hear, too.

From Mainichi Shimbun:

North Koreans return from China in droves to mourn Kim Jong Il

DANDONG, China — On Dec. 20, the day after the announcement of Kim Jong Il’s death, North Koreans living in China crowded into a customs office by the border here, carrying large amounts of supplies and braving temperatures 13 degrees below freezing as they waited to cross the Sino-Korean Friendship Bridge back to their country.

The previous day, nearly 1,000 North Korean residents in Dandong are said to have returned en masse to North Korea. Said one person, “I've heard that if you don't hurry back to (North) Korea, you'll be punished.”

On the morning of Dec. 20 as well, returnees to North Korea appeared one after the other at the bridge, and there were even Chinese vendors selling them flowers.

In the middle of the city is an area of many stores selling food, clothing and other items for North Koreans who come there for work. In this area, some North Koreans were loading large bags one after the other into trucks. They said the bags held clothing.

.... and there were even Chinese vendors selling them flowers. God bless the Chinese - maybe there is still hope for capitalism after all.

Actually, the dead Chia Head fattened up his junior to look like Kim Il-sung. It was intended to make him look legitimate. Chia Head is also of the opinion that thin man does not project enough charisma.

Golf world mourns Kim Jong-il

Updated December 20, 2011 16:39:52

North Korean leader Kim Jong-il’s death was noted on Twitter as an epic loss to golf, with hundreds recalling the Stalinist state media's reports of Kim's 11 holes-in-one in a single round in 1994.

Reports hailed Kim's 38-under par 34 over 18 holes at the 7,700-yard (7,041m) Pyongyang Golf Course in his first try at golf, a feat watched purportedly by 17 security guards protecting the man hailed as ‘Dear Leader’.

Kim, who died on Saturday of a heart attack at age 69, was 52 at the time he purportedly fired a round where birdie was his worst score on any hole.

Twitter sceptics wondered whether or not Kim might have tried to surpass such stars as Tiger Woods or reigning English world number one Luke Donald had he truly gone 21 strokes below the best score from a US PGA golfer.

“Look at it this way: with Kim Jong Il dying, everybody will be moving up one spot in the world golf rankings,” noted Dan Daly in a Twitter posting.

Others pondered the golf showdowns that never happened.

“Kim Jong-il’s passing means Luke Donald is now indisputably golf's world no.1,” tweeted John Mackay.

“Congrats Luke. Just a shame it wasn't settled on the course.”

“Golf world mourns the passing of the prodigious world leader never to win a major,” tweeted Shaun Hinds.

Kim Jong Il now in warm corner of hell with Stalin: McCain

Press Trust Of India

Washington, December 20, 2011

Though President Barack Obama is yet to voice American approach to new North Korean “Respected Comrade”, top US lawmakers have wished his father, the late Kim Jong Il, “a warm corner in hell”, alongside the likes of Muammar Gaddafi, Osama bin Laden, Hitler and Stalin.

“The world is a
better place now that Kim Jong-Il is no longer in it,” said Senator John McCain, a Republican lawmaker who unsuccessfully contested for the President in 2008.

McCain was not alone, several other lawmakers said that Kim, called “Dear Comrade” by his colleagues, had subjected his people to “dire poverty and cruel oppression under one of the most totalitarian regimes the world has ever known.”

“I can only express satisfaction that the Dear Leader is joining the likes of Gaddafi, bin Laden, Hitler and Stalin in a warm corner of hell,” McCain said as he urged China to play a lead role as a responsible world power.

You can add S. Korea’s intelligence chief to the growing list of those that don’t buy the story of Kim Jong Il’s death -

S. Korean intelligence chief casts doubts over time, place of Kim’s death

SEOUL, Dec. 20 (Yonhap) — The head of South Korea’s National Intelligence Service (NIS) on Tuesday expressed cautious doubts over the time and location of North Korean leader Kim Jong-il’s death, parliamentary officials said, raising questions over whether the communist North tried to beautify Kim’s death.

Yeah, I am getting around to address that.
According to Korean languate article on the subject,
(link: http://www.yonhapnews.co.kr/issues/2011/12/20/1204680000AKR20111220219251001.HTML?template=2085 )

My Summary:

For the first time, S. Korean intelligence raise doubts about the official N. Korean version of Kim Jong-il’s death. They have data on the movement of his train, and the data show that his train was at Ryongsung Station in Pyongyang, not moving around at the time of death, the story given in the official N. Korean announcement. So if he is indeed on the train and died at the time they said he did, he was at the station.

Kim Jong-il’s last public event was on Dec. 15, and there was no movement of him on Dec. 16.

In short, N. Korean story does not fit.

This came out during the briefing at Intelligence Committe of S. Korean National Assembly on Dec. 20.

Makes me wonder then if it had anything to do with this article. Coincidence or did someone not want this deal to be finalized?

U.S. official: North Korea leader died just as deal was struck to halt nuclear program

Senior U.S. official says Obama administration was about to secure deal to transfer food aid to North Korea in return of the suspension of the country’s controversial uranium enrichment program.

The United States was about to announce a deal that would put a stop to North Korea’s uranium enrichment program when it was announced that the country’s leader, Kim Jong Il, had died, a senior U.S. official told CBS on Tuesday.

The Obama administration, according to the official, was due to announce that the U.S. would make a large donation of food aid to North Korea, and in turn North Korea was to announce the suspension of its controversial uranium enrichment program.

Kim Jong-il and Bill Clinton were about to sign a sweeping deal between two countries near the end of Slick' term. Then Florida recount incident occurred. It consumed all of Slick attention, and they missed the opportunity to seal the deal. It was a historic near miss which averted a major diplomatic disaster. Very luck coincidence from our point of view. To this day, I am really glad that it happened the way it did.

Now we apparently had a similar situation. I knew about the deal being worked out behind the scene. I even thought that their announcement of impending special broadcast meant that they will announce the deal with some fanfare in the broadcast. History did another magic and it stopped on its track Dem's sorry gambit to score what they can tout as diplomatic breakthrough, giving a new lease on NK regime.

Yes, I suspect they made it up, about when and where Yura (Kim) died. I suspect it was in a hospital in Pyongyang, but they just placed him on a train somewhere heroically working for the people Saturday morning. Another mysterious, mystical North Korean Myth. A country of myths and rewritten history. It's bullshit. Just alike all these crying scenes where the people are clearly over acting and not crying naturally.

But there has also been the long rumor even in a Western Parliamentary Democracy like Japan that officials lied over a top death-- in the case of Emperor Hirohito, it is suspected he died right around New Years eve, or a little before, but that would totally throw out of whack the entire Japanese bureaucracy, government and Imperial Household agency who were out on vacation, so the rumor is they kept the death quiet, kept him on ice, and then suddenly announced the morning of January 4th 1989, that Emperor Hirohito had died, so that all persons were back to their posts in Tokyo to do the massive planning for succession, funeral, acceptance of many overseas VIPs, etc.

We know exactly when he died because swans were seen bowing in respect and an earthquake was felt as the earth was torn by mourning.
