I should have definitely added the trusty RC135V, “Rivet Joint” as well. Just no time to think of it. Cobra Ball, Rivet Joint and other assets, yes. Ramping things up now, watching for all kinds of signs. If politically the Boy becomes unstable in trying to fill the vacuum of charismatic and experienced Kim Jong il, he may feel the need to show off his manhood for domestic appeal a little bit and give the order to launch some modified Scuds toward Japan into the sea, or maybe a naval provocation where they could come away and winner and he could be seen as this big magnificent military genius just like Grandpa and Dad. He already is a murderer, for participating in the Yongpyeongdo Island shelling which killed four, I dont know where the US elite media can see this guy being more “liberal” and “easy to deal with” and opening the system up more. He is part of the system and he will defend it to his own death and the deaths of many others if need be. Nothing has changed, things may have even turned for the worse.

According to a N Korean source in China, rumor has it they knew:
Death of Kim Jong-il: NK Embassy in China Notified Before Announcement (Open Radio for North Korea)

I am certain it was known around Pyongyang on Sunday maybe even Saturday, in many circles, that he was dead. I tend to suspect some of the announcers on North Korean state TV had an inkling, just due to their behavior (I have reviewed p.m. news broadcasts of 18 and 17 December. They may have also heard the Chief Announcer Ms. Ri (aka sobbing “Pyongyang Patty” in the all black chima-chogori dress) was coming out of either retirement, convalescence or hiding, for a special announcement on Monday afternoon at Noon. They might have know this during Sunday and partially Saturday perhaps, any person on the ground would have connected the dots that it mean the demise of Kim Jong il. Word travels fast in Pyongyang among the elite cadre, and further, one of the female announcers did have partial black on when she was on camera on Sunday (prior to the announcement). You have to guess this was picked up by assets in the region during the communication from Pyongyang to the DPRK Embassy in China. Now the question is a) did NSA catch it and process it, and b) was it in the President’s morning briefing for Saturday or Sunday in the USA, i.e. did the US have advance word. Japan is acting as if they were shocked and did not know the way Noda cancelled a stump speech Monday afternoon at Shimbashi JR Train Station in Tokyo and rushed back to the Prime Minister’s office. I am certain if the DPRK Embassy in Beijing got word, Chinese intelligence necessarily intercepted it as well, and/or saw diplomatic personnel movement, such as mass booking of air tickets out, and the like.

ACTUAL VIDEO OF "HIT" ORDERED BY KIM JONG IL BEING CARRIED OUT--1983 (GRAPHIC)

This man has the blood of thousands if not millions upon his hands. And yet the Western news outlets were praising him as smart, or brilliant, likeable/engageable (Madeline Albright spat this out), etc. etc, enough to turn one's stomach. And these worldwide progressives speak of "social justice"??

You can add S. Korea’s intelligence chief to the growing list of those that don’t buy the story of Kim Jong Il’s death

Doubts this is just another "story" to further keep the people 'in the dark' about everything and everyone in their country is par for the course in N.Korea as we know. Nothing is believable when it comes from the leadership, it's all propaganda to keep the people in submission.

Here's a couple of excerts..fear rules over the people even in their mourning:

"The source said people were afraid in case they did not show enough zealotry in their mourning,..... recalling punishments meted out to some after Kim ll Sung's death 17 years ago. ......"There are armed soldiers on the street every four metres (yards)... military and intelligence officers are on guard everywhere," it quoted a source in the northeastern city of Musan as saying.

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.dc174d876c76cc1b32e809185eb09d1b.251&show_article=1

Two-day state funeral is to begin at the Kamsusan Memorial Palace on Dec. 28. North Korean officials say they will not invite foreign delegations and will allow no entertainment during the mourning period......an 11-day period of official mourning, flags were flown at half-staff at all military units, factories, businesses, farms and public buildings.... The streets of Pyongyang were quiet, but throngs of people gathered at landmarks honoring Kim.

Exactly....he's already got blood on his hands and clamped down further on the defector issues. I just don't see things changing as long as his aunt and Uncle are alive..and others like them in leadership.

So many unknowns dealing with the NORKs. Just about any analysis of the situation based upon the limited intelligence available is hardly much more credible than conspiracy theories, unfortunately.

UN is surrounded by elderly leadership....not exactly fresh minds! There’s no way these stoic individuals are going to yield anything to a younger mind even if UN ever thought of changing his country.

The most hope he has is to have a power base himself of younger individuals who want to see the country change...but they are all so brainwashed...impossible situation.

Thanks for posting the ages of the power line....does make a difference, I was wondering about that.

Not too suprised to see this kind of sentiment expressed by John Bolton. Not sure where he is getting the information that Kim’s death went undisclosed for “days”. From what I’ve seen, it was only one day, maybe 2 that it went undisclosed.

‘The Great Successor’
There’s no guarantee that the North Korean military will accept another hereditary ruler
John R. Bolton | The Wall Street Journal
December 20, 2011

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Il’s death opens a period of intense danger and risk, but also potentially enormous opportunity for America and its allies. Kim’s health had obviously been poor for some time, and his regime has worked “There is no reason whatever to believe that opinion among the military leadership will be unanimous, either to support or oppose the regime’s succession plan.” —John R. Boltonto ensure an orderly transition to his son, Kim Jong Eun. The Kim family and its supporters, with everything obviously at stake, will work strenuously to convey stability and control. Indeed, the official North Korea news agency has already referred to Jong Eun as “the great successor to the revolutionary cause.”

But the loathsome Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (DPRK) is not a constitutional monarchy like Britain. While DPRK founder Kim Il Sung was powerful enough to impose his son, no guarantees exist that the North’s military, the real power, will meekly accept rule by his utterly inexperienced grandson.

Under the surface in Pyongyang, the maneuvering has almost certainly already begun. There is no reason whatever to believe that opinion among the military leadership will be unanimous, either to support or oppose the regime’s succession plan. In fact, the early reports are that Kim Jong Il’s death went undisclosed publicly for days, perhaps indicating a power struggle already under way. Many generals may simply not accept that Leader 3.0 is competent or merits their support.

It looks like UN is hemmed in by the elderly leadership ...even if he wanted to make moves he hasn’t a chance with those hardliners standing in the way. The only hope would be to have garnered younger bucks and he hasn’t had the time to do that.

If UN had any inkling to change his country it could only come from pulling a “saddam”....when he took office. Doutful UN has any where near the loyality of any who would risk that type of move anytime soon.....I do however imagine those over him know quite well in the future UN could do just that...but is he of the mindset to even consider his nations people?

Yes, I think that the “youngsters” Jang Song Thaek and Kim Kyong Hui, also 65, together with Vice Marshal Ri Yong Ho are in charge.

I do tend to agree with Bolton....there isn’t any way any can know for certain if or not a power struggle began early on with the death of KIM...hours matter in these situations.. ....what if they kept him on dry ice for a time while they orchestrated the “story”....

Remember when Reagan was shot.. Nancy had to prop him up for a photo shoot to make it look like he was signing papers and fully aware, even though he was drugged up and basically out of it.

A completely different take on the succession than Bolton has.

Analysis: The power behind the throne in North Korea

With the military already very powerful, there appears to be little risk of a coup or the kind of regime change seen in the Arab world this year.

One thing is clear — the elite want to survive and know they cannot afford a power struggle.

“The North Korean leadership is united,” said Andrei Lankov of Kookmin University in Seoul. “They understand that they should hang together in order not to be hanged separately.”

Jang, his wife Kim and Vice Marshal Ri are expected to make sure Jong-un survives as the third generational leader and that North Korea holds together at least through the centenary of Kim Il-Sung’s birth in 2012.
“These people make up a crisis management community,” said Cho Min of the Korea Institute for National Unification.

“They will be ensuring that everyone understands that it is in no one’s interest to try to stand up against Kim Jong-un.”
