Everyone wants a piece of 24-year-old Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow. Most people settle for a high-five or an autograph. Others ask him to surrender his values, like the young women who beg him for fan photos and then start stripping off their shirtssending Tebow darting away.
Tebow has All-American character. He espouses capitalistic values that are foundational to America: Competitiveness, ownership, responsibility, hard work, optimism, faith and persistence.
As a football celebrity, Tebow effectively glamorizes a rational lifestyle. Sure, he celebrates after touchdowns by pointing to heaven and shouting: Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! Victory! But he is not expressive in an irrational way.
Tebow once told ESPN: When people ask, I let em know that I am a follower of Jesus Christ and Im not ashamed of that and I never will be. The three key words in that sentence are: When people ask.
Tebows faith is public without becoming irrational or aggressive. Case in point: When asked by the press whether hes saving himself for marriage, he confidently answers: Yes, I am. There is neither hesitation nor conceit in his face when he answers; there is merely self-assurance.
Even Tebowing, Tebows trademark pose, is pensive. Unlike President Obamas perpetual Ive-got-my-nose-in-the-air-and-I-dont-care stance which conveys prideful philistinismTebowing is purposeful and humble. In fact, TIME Magazine compares it to the philosophic pose of Auguste Rodins Thinker sculpture.
Tebows mere existence sets irrational people on edge. Just as Occupy Wall Streeters claim that entrepreneurial risk-takers like Steve Jobs got rich through luck, Tebows critics claim that he wins football games through lucknot hard work and raw talent. Dolphins linebacker Kevin Burnett told Sports Illustrated that Tebow is a football player who just happens to be a quarterback.
Luck plays little role in Tebows career. Tebow has worked hard, developing his natural abilities to become a pro and outwit his opponents.
Tebow is fast for his size. His on-field intuition is accurate. His touchdown-to-interception ratio in college was an incredible 88-15. He helped bring the Florida Gators the 2006 NCAA National Championship trophy as a 19-year-old freshman, scored the Heisman Trophy as a sophomore (becoming the first underclassman to win the award), won a second national championship and an undefeated season as a junior and missed winning a third national championship as a senior by a single game.
Tebows ultimate strength is his character. The year Tebow won the Heisman, the Gators came up short of advancing to the championship because they lost to Ole Miss midway through the season. He gave an immortalizing press conference where he put the blame on himself for missing his personal goal of achieving an undefeated season:
Im sorry, extremely sorry I promise you one thing: A lot of good will come out of this. You have never seen any player in the entire country play as hard as I will play the rest of this season and youll never see someone push the rest of the team as hard as I will push everybody the rest of this season and youll never see a team play harder than we will the rest of this season. God bless.
In a capitalist society, leaderswhether they are the President of the United States, the CEO of a corporation or the quarterback for a football teamtake responsibility. They dont blame Congress, their shareholders or their fans. They focus on improving themselves and working harder to compete for a winning result.
On the other hand, leaders who embrace socialism shun responsibility. This month, President Obama blamed capitalismthe foundation of this countryfor our poor economy. He said capitalism: doesnt work. It has never worked. The Presidents statement is akin to Tebow blaming the football turf for his losses.
Also this month, WVEC-TV asked President Obama: do you take any personal responsibility for your administration creating that condition [a poor economy]? The President replied: Well, we didnt create the condition. We havent, uh, we havent solved it fully yet.
Unlike Tebow, President Obama refuses to accept responsibility for the economic destruction he has unleashed via socialist policies like ObamaCare, bailouts, net neutrality regulations and by blocking oil production.
Football is competitive. There are winners and losers. Talent and hard work win; incompetence and laziness lose. Football rewards innovative risk-takers and analytical thinkers, not sentimental whiners. By instilling capitalistic principles, football builds leaders. In contrast, by discouraging competition, socialist principles encourage people to do the bare minimum, shirk responsibility and reject leadership.
Tebow lives his life in a way that embraces capitalistic principles and he is a leader because of his strong character.
After Tebow crushed the Chicago Bears in overtime this month, Charlotte Bobcats guard Kemba Walker tweeted: Man do I respect Tim Tebow. True Leader. Not a bad person to model yourself after.
Just like Drew Breeze, Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Paton Manning, Brett Frave, and Tom Brady amongst many others before. Tebow is the new guy but next year will be another. It is the way Football is.
I like Tebow, and think he is good for the game, but I sure don’t appreciate my team’s star (Brees) getting 1/10 the coverage for getting ready to break one of the leagues most cherished records in the next two weeks.

The quoted text comes from halfway through Obama’s Osawatomie speech.

Not only that, but precluded Limbaugh’s efforts at owner partnership of the Rams and the whole ESPN/NFL/Limbaugh affair.
Except the NFL doesn’t practice free enterprise when the owners hit up the local and state officials for taxpayer money to build their stadiums.
All this banter about Brady in he is an arrogant AH I say this because he came out of UofM. Tebow has more class. I’m sure this will generate a response.

You too? I thought I was the only one and was about to post the same question. I’m not 100% on top of politics these days, but that’s a pretty definitive and transparent statement not to get some decent - at least conservative - attention.
You’re missing the point. Everyone is making this about Tim Tebow... except Tim Tebow. He always gives full credit to his teammates, and even opposing players. He accepts responsibility for his own play as well. His number one goal, other than honoring Christ, is winning and being the best teammate he can be.
That is why his fellow Broncos and his fans love and support him.
Then blame the media, not Tebow. He has no control over that.
ping to save
It is EXACTLY the same with any other Quarterback. Drew Breeze is a Christian too and a year ago (or two) he was the talk of the town. This is no different than any other Quarterback who has a good year.
Somehow, Tebow is a threat to the dark side's agenda and he must be stopped. And unfortunately, that which the dark side can't find... it conjures. It's all about the seriousness of the charge... not the validity of it.
Sorry to say, Denver handed NE each of the 18 points they won by:
1 missed PAT’ 2 fumbles that led to TDs, 1 muffed kickoff that led to a FG at the end of the first half.
Plus some costly penalties.
Fortunately, if you’re a Broncos fan, Oakland lost as well.

Were any of those QBs ripped to shreds about technique, draft position or faith as much as Tebow? NO. THAT is what makes him different... he has, so far, defied everything the pundits have said.
Remember, Brady was a media darling for years after he took over for Horses.
Tebow is the ‘feel good ‘ story of the year, especially in light of all the negative stories about other players.
Sounds to me, nap, you’re just a bit jealous your Pats and Brady aren’t getting enough attention.
Um, that should be Bledsoe, not horses. Damn auto correct !!!!
Oops....
Did you see the Saturday Night Live skit on Tebow....It is HILARIOUS. Worth a watch. Oh as far as America’s Team the Patriots. They get enough attention. They don’t need attention. They are an action, get them done team.
