Sadly, you're mistaken.
President Harry S (nmn) Truman sent American air and naval forces to aid South Korea as a result of a United Nations Security Council resolution, sponsored by his ambassador to the UN -- who happened to be a Republican.
Globalism is a bi-partisan disease as you know.
There was no declaration of war, not even a "mother may I" request of Congress. Truman called it a "police action."
Most of the country, and especially those whose loved ones were drafted and sent off to this police action, called it war. I've known people who would spit on Truman's grave for what his unilateral decision did to their families.
The slippery slope began a long, long time ago. I'd say it's about time we get off of it, wouldn't you?
I support our military 110%. I sat in a brew house in NC and bought a round of beer for the whole table of them.
They were a hootin and a hollerin. They were so damn young!
I am so against sending our youngins into conflicts for political purposes. This is why I'd like this country to pull our troops home and start over.
If a security threat is imminent, go take care of it, get out. No PC rules of engagement. Hit hard, then hit harder, get the hell out.
