We all know why he “left” the Speakers chair...and remember he left it....so trying to say he was outed is bull-crap...just as the bull crap was they tried to pull on Newt....need you be reminded Newt was exonerated from those charges? So stop pushing this junk.

One person or even a few hundred people on a website cannot take down a candidate. If their support is that weak then they can’t possibly make it through the general against 0bama who’s going to have the full force of the media behind him. Gingrich can win if he can convince the majority of the base that he’s the best one for the job, just like the other candidates. His main concern right now should be maintaining his lead so that he doesn’t become the flavor of the month like the other candidates because the only ones left at the top are Romney and Paul.

I definitely think Mitt is a better choice than Newt.

I hate to admit it, but I agree with that assessment. (In no way is this an endorsement of Romney, but a scathing rejection of McNewt).

While I do not believe there is any way possible that Romney wins the GOP nomination, I also do not believe that there is any way McNewt beats Obama. We already saw that ending in 2008.

We can argue that, but any way you slice it, it was a hell of a lot better than what we have now.

2012 is starting to look uglier then 2008.

And you thought it might be otherwise? Get real...everyone knows things are going to be nastier and uglier...count on it.

A skilled and competent executive leader would not have had to ‘leave’ the Speaker position.

The budgets in the late 90s weren’t really balanced.

DING DING DING !!! WE'VE GOT A WINNER !!!

The budget hasn't been balanced since 1969.

More bull-crap as usual. You step down when you see your own people ganging up on you....has nothing to do with competance or skill. Newt didn’t abandone his position..he was forced to step down as we all know....the blame lies in those who took that stand against him and played right into the hands of the opponets we are now fighting...who are not on our team.

Take your own advice. Politics is always an ugly effort.

I was referring to the choice of candidates being ugly, dummy!

It has everything do to with leadership ability, competence, and skill. No sailor mutinies against Lord Horatio Nelson. But they will readily mutiny against Captain William Bligh. Gingrich already proved that he is a Bligh, and not a Nelson. Which commander do you want leading your navy?

Romney is a McCain clone. Newt is yesterday’s news. Huntsman never even turned the ignition on. Rick stuck his foot down his esophagus. Bachmann, Paul, and Santorum are too extreme to win the general election.

Man I miss Herman...and he wasn’t even that great either.

Guess the real winners are keeping their powder dry for 2016.

Isn’t it wonderful? Your effort to take Gingrich down is paying off. Just look at those gains for ROmney! You must be overjoyed.

My efforts? I have made no effort to 'take Gingrich down', I merely posted a graphic depicting his fall, a fall which is of his own doing and a fall which is identical to that of other candidates.

You really should get some new material; you exhausted that weak line about helping Romney when you were shilling for that loser Perry. Not wanting a pro-amnesty Newt Gingrich does not mean I want Romney. Is it really beyond you to comprehend that? Apparently so.

Romney's "business" experience is as a vulture capitalist. Did he start Staples or just fund it? What really did he do?

Newt's had and has some small businesses but that's "No Business experience" to you.

Newt Ping!

The numbers have settled and appear to be steady for well over a week now, with Newt holding a slight lead over Mitt Romney. Paul hangs a distant third, with everyone else in single digits.

So Newt wins the Tea Party poll,
Wins the Hot Air/Townhall poll,
has massive leads in GA, SC, and FL,
and still leads in national polls.

Newt Gingrich is still LEADING!! Or as the media and GOP Establishment report it: “tanking.”

No, we can't. But that same poster credits me with taking down Perry also, as if his abysmal campaign had nothing to do with it.

I've been pretty busy lately and as a result have posted very little. So apparently my posting this graphic showing Newt's fall brought somehow caused the fall? Such is the 'logic' of some posters.

Cheers.

Newt holding a slight lead over Mitt Romney. Paul hangs a distant third, with everyone else in single digits.

This is why Paul might come out ahead (not my wish, my prediction). When you have a three way contest going into caucuses, the guy in third -- if organized, which Paul's people are -- stands a good chance of coming out on top.

Yes it does. The PPP poll is second on the list on the RCP website.
