The question for Gingrich will be whether he has enough time to rebound in the two weeks left to campaign in Iowa or if he has begun a political free-fall that will be hard to stop. The problem is simple: If not Newt, who? The bench is empty.

Im going to be the nominee, the former Speaker told ABC News. Its very hard not to look at the recent polls and think that the odds are very high Im going to be the nominee.
TAPPER: How do you respond to Republicans who say if you dont draw distinctions with Mitt Romney and others who are attacking you, if you dont point out their perceived vulnerabilities, Barack Obama and the Democrats sure arent going to share that same reluctance and you are doing Obama a favor by staying positive?
GINGRICH: They are not going to be the nominee. I dont have to go around and point out the inconsistencies of people who are not going to be the nominee. They are not going to be the nominee.
TAPPER: You are going to be the nominee?
GINGRICH: Im going to be the nominee. Its very hard not to look at the recent polls and think that the odds are very high Im going to be the nominee. And by the way I dont object if people want to attack me, thats their right. All Im suggesting that its not going to be very effective and that people are going to get sick of it very fast. And the guys who attacked each other in the debates up to now, every single one of them have lost ground by attacking. So they should do what they and their consultants want to do.”
Same old ****... different day.

The reason that Gingrich is slipping in IA is simple. He has no money and he has no real group of troops there to build support. If he had money to respond to Paul’s ads, he may have stopped this hemorrhage earlier.

If not Newt, who? There are three types of people attacking Gingrich right now:
Liberals.
Romney Supporters.
People too stupid to understand that the only person they are helping is Romney.

I want someone to ask poor little Newt about his upcoming global warming book. His co authors are promoting it but I don’t believe I’ve heard him mention it even once.

If you check the RealClearPolitics average, it appears that Romney and Paul are getting the displaced Newt votes. That means the establishment was wise to attack Newt since they want Romney, but FReepers were stupid to attack Newt cause they are only helping Romney and Paul.

Why Ron Paul Can Never Be President In 12 Quotes Not winning Iowa will not be the end of Newt Gingrich. He was always focused on SC & FL. The dumbasses who post about him talking about the frontrunner conveniently forget that at the same time he was talking about being "six weeks ahead of where [he] thought he'd be."
Ron Paul has ZERO chance of winning the nomination.

That attitude is exactly why republicans are more comfortable in the minority and it is exactly that attitude that keeps boehner and mcconnell from taking on obama and his attacks directly in the press. Some of us are raising hell because hell needs to be raised. Some of us see the charade... and we are tired of the beltway way. It does not make us stupid... it makes us Conservatives with a different view of what needs to be done to actually salvage what we can of what is left of our Republic. I respect the fact that you disagree... and I will not make unkind remarks because you do disagree.

Of that's right: It's because 80% of the electorate knows that you are all full of crap.
