That candidate isn’t presently “running” but even if she doesn’t get back in the race I’ll write in Sarah Palin!

If you don't for less damage, your voting for the current occupant. That is how Blagovich got a second term in Illinois. Everybody knew he was a rotten SOB but 11% of voters went green party because the republicans had a weak candidate. He got reelected and continued to cause immense damage to the state.

You have a point but it becomes a bit more dull when you consider the remaining candidates. Nary a one of them would do anything to roll back the damage Obama has done so far. For that matter, many of them have espoused ideas and ideals little different from his. The only one who stands out as different from the flock is Ron Paul and his chances of winning the nomination are about as good as of winning the election. We have to face the fact that the Republican National Committee is in the tank for Romney. Of course if he cannot win a primary they’ll settle for Gingrich, who is simply another member of the “Good ‘ol Boys Club,” letting Romney wait another four years.

There are plenty of good Presidential candidates out there. We need to find some way to pressure the RNC into recognizing them and then backing them. Many of us thought they had finally come around when they picked Palin as McCain’s running mate. But when they turned around and abandoned - first McCain and when he was gone - Palin, it became obvious that they weren’t as interested in giving us a good President as in keeping the status quo.

I used to work at polling places and when the polls closed we tabulated the results. I always kept a tally in my pocket until the results were finally announced. On only one occasion did I ever find reason to question the final published numbers and upon inquiry I found I had made an error. Now, with voting machines and mail-in ballots who knows what errors - accidental or otherwise - are passed on to the electoral college?

No, I will still vote for the best person to lead the country. At this point that person is Sarah Palin though Ron Paul could still get some legs and show me a reason to vote for him.
