The RNC is so “quiet” because they wanted Romney in the first place. And look at their only competition for the entire 50 delegates from Virginia.........RUN Paul.
Game over! Romney wins! RNC happy! (It’s simple really.)

You're right. This is not the state's problem. It is a VIRGINIA GOP rule.

There is no registration by party and anyone can vote in the presidential primaries, Reps and Dems. The State Board of Elections first notified the presidential campaigns on March 6th of the ballot access requirements. The campaigns have had since July 1st to collect the signatures they needed. They even had the great good fortune of having a statewide election in Virginia this November plus the annual gathering of Republican activists in early December to gather signatures.

Getting on Virginia’s ballot was a test of organizational skill and grassroots strength. It was also something much more mundane: it tested whether campaigns could pay attention to a calendar and read instructions. For those complaining that Virginia’s rules are too tough — the ballot access requirements have been largely unchanged since 1999. If memory serves, this is the first time in the three election presidential election cycles since then that the bulk of the field failed to make the ballot.

The bottom line is that these are state rules that apply to all candidates wishing to be on the ballot in the primaries.

This whole mess in VA looks bad.....VA Lt. Gov. Bill Bolling is Romney’s Campaign Chairman.

Bolling submits 15,000+ petitions for the Romney Camaign and according to Party rules that means none of Romney’s petitions need to be verified.

Perry Campaign submits 11, 900+ and gets told he doesn’t qualify!

Something is rotten in the state of VA!

The primaries are run by the state, not the GOP. When you go to vote, you are asked which primary slate you wish to vote for, Rep or Dem. You then vote. In VA, you are not registered by party. It is an open primary.

I have no idea why he didn’t get on the ballot, but I doubt he was precluded because of his political positions. I am sure he failed to comply with the existing rules.

>>Conservatives Question the Rules BEFORE THE GAME STARTS not after they lost the match. That is the Liberal game plan and you just ousted yourself as such Lib-Boy. >>

You are way over your head here. First, they have questioned it. Second, I suppose every IRS rule that will now hopefully get you jailed (hey, you love rules, not me) was not quetsioned. In other words, rules can be stupid and still be questioned. That is a false choice from a shallow thinker.

I mean it takes only about 35 IQ points to make the point you tried to make above. Obviously you are uncomfortable much above that.

...I am assuming they are corrupt sob’s manipulating the rules to help their preferred butt boy Romney.

My take on it as well. If it were a private corporation, the VA GOP leaders would be known as "company men".

You obviously do not understand the rules under which the Presidential primaries are governed in VA. The state runs them, not the political parties.

Big Romney buddy McDonnell is behind this, you can bet. He gave Romney all of his campaign staff to help Romney get the necessary 15,000.

You can Bank on it! And those 50 WINNER-TAKES-ALL delegates, will make or break a candidate. They are vital, which is why Virginia made it so difficult to qualify.

This reeks beyond all decency.

All of those siding with Virginia will be made to look like fools as all of this stinky mess unfolds.

Your consistent insults of FReepers you may have disagreements with are truly nauseating and well past worn out.

Too bad you're not half as smart as you think you are, you would be showing some respect to fellow FReepers who have been here a heck of a lot longer than you have, or maybe you just need to grow up.

1) If Newt and Perry campaigns failed on this basic task, then its validation that they may not be fit for office. I’m sorry but there is simply no excuse for this.

2) If this was done maliciously than Newt has a Rat that must be identified
