Gator!!!!!! I think you nailed it! Rove has been harping on Gingrich’s lack of organization for weeks. Would not doubt if he was celebrating Newt being eliminated from the VA primary and Newt would have won in VA.

AND on the same day deadline in VA......

Bush 41 endorsed Romney and dissed both Newt and Perry.......

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Former President George H. W. Bush on Thursday endorsed Mitt Romney and distanced himself from Newt Gingrich, in a move that will surely be a conservative rubber stamp for the former Massachusetts governor's campaign. "cited past conflict with Gingrich as a reason he had trouble backing the former House speaker."

"He [Gingrich] was there, right outside the Oval Office. I met with all the Republican leaders, all the Democratic leaders," Bush recalled to the Chronicle. "The plan was, we were all going to walk out into the Rose Garden and announce this deal. Newt was right there. Got ready to go out in the Rose Garden, and I said, 'Where's Gingrich?' Went up to Capitol Hill. He was here a minute ago. Went up there and started lobbying against the thing."

Bush, who lives in Houston, was careful to say that he likes Texas Gov. Rick Perry, but said that Perry's campaign doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Too many coincidences for this not to have been planned. Virginia is Gingrich's home state. No doubt the E assumed this would look terrible for Newt's campaign and that it would destroy it. What the E was not counting on is that conservatives/tea partiers are not just going to lie down and take it. Newt is a fighter. He's not going to just go sulking off. The fact that Perry, Bachmann, Santorum & Huntsman also failed to get the right number of signatures tells us something. Hmmmm, I wonder how many signatures Romney actually submitted and how many were considered ineligible. Not many I bet and not because he's organized. We need to raise hades over this!
