NJ Dem Rothman to Challenge Pascrell in June primary

FAIR LAWN — Thrown into a politically unfriendly district last week, U.S. Rep. Steve Rothman today signaled he intends to challenge a fellow Democrat in June’s primary. Rothman (D-9th Dist.) began telling Democrats today that he plans run against Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-8th Dist.) in the newly formed 9th Congressional District, according to three Democrats. Technically, Rothman would not have to move to the new district to run there, although he is expected to. Rothman was thrown into a Republican-leaning district with Rep. Scott Garrett (R-5th Dist.) last week after the congressional redistricting process concluded. Since then, there has been speculation that rather than run an uphill fight against Garrett, Rothman would move and challenge Pascrell in the newly-drawn 9th District, which will contain parts of Bergen, Passaic and Hudson Counties — including many of the towns Rothman currently represents.

Rep. Steve Rothman will move to Englewood and take on a fellow incumbent Democrat, Bill Pascrell Jr., in Pascrell’s district, which was redrawn last week to include parts of Bergen County, two Democratic sources with knowledge of Rothman’s plans said late Monday.

The sources said Rothman, D-Fair Lawn, called Pascrell, D-Paterson, with the news on Monday night and that Rothman will formally announce his plans Tuesday.

These Dems are the architects of their own demise in this case; NJ’s shrinking population is the result of their over-taxing of their “subjects”, and the flight of the corporations and taxpayers from NJ will ensure that this fighting over a shrinking pie will continue.

Time for TEA sympathizers to run in the DEM primaries.

Why not have a two-prong attack?

Take out the RINOs in the GOP and the Marxists in that other party.

It could be done - it should be done;)
