Dang! Another poll showing Santorum a close fourth with an up-arrow.

At this rate, he really could take it. How amazing would that be?

Pinging the list...

Santorum for President ping. Let me know if you want on or off the list.

Top 10 Reasons why Conservatives should support Santorum

I agree with all you say BUT you have no logical plan in which Santorum can win the nomination. It will take money to stand up against Romney and Santorum has no money and he's not going to accumulate what could be needed to at least cripple Romney in NH. Then comes SC. Can Santorum accumulate enough, fast enough to become competitive in SC? It will be far easier for Perry. That is why I am a Perry person.

Not only that, Santorum has been a senator, not a governor, we have no idea how Santorum would react to events that may confront a president.

I'll also take Perry's expeience of flying military planes into Iran. We may have a showdown with Iran staring us in the face and I want Perry in charge.

What concerns me is, the fact that the MSM is successfully splitting the conservative vote;......Again!

FOX has been drumming all morning, the fall of Gingrich, the rise of Santorum, Gingrich can't overcome, blah, blah blah. (Ashcan Carl is truly overjoyed!)

You’re right, Faux has been awful this morning, save for Newt Gingrich’s magnificent interview during Fox n’ Friends.

WEll, you know, they have all day to destroy any positive gains Newt may have gained from that.

This is sickening. Especially over all the foamy mouthed support for Santorum. A candidate who is so short of money, organization and ideas, that he has failed to qualify for over half of all the coming primaries, but there is this insane last second drive to split the Conservative vote for a losing candidate as pathetic as Santorum.

Hello 2008! (Romney has become McCain)

Folks, if this poll is accurate, then we officially still have a SIX person race with just days to go before the Iowa caucus.

I try to keep the pulse of my electorate here in Iowa. Just from what I see and hear:
-I don’t see the enthusiasm over Paul that media or the polls seems to give him credit for.
-I don’t see the enthusiasm for Romney that gets him 20%.
-Gingrich and Santorum seem to have the most traction with the folks that I run with. Pretty diverse group too.
-Perry, Bachmann, and Santorum are courting the same voters.
FWIW

Apparently, a lot of the Paul support comes from Democrats who want to screw things up for GOPers.

Thus, Paul does not count in the poll.

I just sent him $200. I would be that Obama has cost you more than $200 in higher energy bills alone. If you haven't sent your money, you will deserve what you will get, even if it is Romney or Newt.

All Perry and Rick S. can do is help Mitt in South Carolina. Anyone remember by Huckabee lost in S.C.? Because Fred held on too long. It is going to happen again. We are so screwed.

What’s the odds that this poll gets any play in the headlines today? It’s not as exciting as the CNN poll, and doesn’t support narratives that the media wants to drive.

Rasmussen just came out with their latest:

Romney 23
Paul 22
Santorum 16
Perry 13
Gingrich 13
Bachmann 5

Gingrich now tied for 4th and still falling.

Does that support your favored narrative?

Not a single vote has been cast. Two weeks are a lifetime in politics. Dorks selling that crap gave us two Bushes and a Schwarzenegger. How'd that work out?

Had it with the majority those associated with FNC.

Complete nonsense. Based on the debates where Perry and Bachmann looked terrible and what has happened afterwards with Cain and Gingrich withering under media attack, I judge that Santorum is the best candidate for conservatives to rally around. Now is the time to unite and I think Santorum is the guy.

Our nation needs a solid leader like him. Pray God deigns to bless us in such a way.

The ultimate objective of all this pumping up and deflating of various candidates through promoting them, then destroying them etc. etc. is to make Romney the ultimate winner.

Romney and the GOP machine have us in their tentacles.

Karl Rove and his ilk in the various media (FOX NEWS INCLUDED) have managed this campaign season perfectly splitting us up so Romney can win.

They’ve got some of us loving Perry, others loving Santorum, others for Bachmann, still others willing to vote for Ron Paul or Newt Gingrich.

And the insiders get what they want, Mitt Romney.

If that polling is accurate I would say that only Paul or Santorum can derail Romney.

Lousy choice in my book. As a Pennsylvanian, I saw Santorum serve the RINO insiders through candidate endorsements both here and in other states.

I’ve always said his purpose in the presidential race was to split conservative, pro-life votes so Romney can win.

Don’t forget who Rick Santorum supported at the Iowa caucuses for president sixteeen years ago.

Arlen Specter.

Paul versus Romney. What a screwed up choice that is......

Santorum is straight out of Vice President central casting and the perfect Vice President for Newt. He’ll help balance the ticket with one fat guy and one skinny guy.

I understand your rationale, but I am convinced that Santorum is Obama’s “low hanging fruit”.

The guy has the charisma of an unseasoned bowl of grits and would fail miserably in the general election. I think that despite his obvious appeal to the social conservatives, there are just not enough of them to elect a President, especially when the support of fiscal conservatives and independents will be unenthusiastic.

Santorum is Obama’s dream opponent and I don’t think that is what we want to give him.
