[history]
Is Ed Schultz's expression of respect for Rick Santorum a Machiavellian maneuver designed to sow chaos in the Republican field? I actually don't think so.
Watching the MSNBC host in action this evening, I got the sense that Schultz, out on the Iowa campaign trail with Santorum, came away with a sincere respect for the former Pennsylvania senator, calling him "impressive" among other things.
View the video here and be the judge.

A “setup”. Nothing else but yet obviously another way to splinter the conservative vote.

Can I play? Alan Grayson is very impressive, and would make a wonderful substitute for Obama in the Democrat primary. :)

LOL: good thought, but personally I’m writing in Anthony Weiner in the Dem primary ;-)

I didn’t need to see the video to know his intent.
Shultz, like Fox and the others, want our votes spread out. They want to help encourage folks away from Newt to take him out, so that they get Romney nominated to run against Obama.
There is nothing good within that scum, Schultz.

Vote Lizard People in the Democrat primary. They're still more socially and fiscally liberal than the common Newt.

I wouldn’t trust anything Ed Schultz says any further than I could kick his fat, pimply, red-haired arse. Whatever he’s saying about Republican candidates, it is not in their best interest.
Picture Rush making a flattering statement about Obama, and you’ve got the picture.

To sew trouble, more people other than you would have to watch him; or me listen to him on the radio.
I had the same impression that you did when I heard him call into his radio show, he had a guest host. He did sound impressed with Santorum.
Maybe it was someone did talk to him?
