To: potlatch; Darksheare

They have the IP’s of banned accounts. It’s easy to check a new sign up that has caused suspicion. However, there are 300,000 registered posters. I assume the IP’s of everyone would have to be cross-referenced manually. I wouldn’t want the job.

Plus, IP addies are rotated periodically by the ISPs to prevent hacking and spoofing.

I would think that could be built into the html program. On the other hand there are families with multiple accounts and that would eliminate just using the IP.....
