Gingrich Floats Sarah Palin As Possible Vice President Pick
Real Clear Politics ^ | 30 December 2011 | RCP

Posted on 12/30/2011 2:34:24 PM PST by Erik Latranyi

Newt Gingrich tells a tele-townhall that Sarah Palin is someone to be considered for the Vice Presidency or Energy Secretary.

Caller: If you’re fortunate enough to be nominated, would you consider having Sarah Palin as your running mate?

Gingrich: She is certainly one of the people you would look at. I am a great admirer of hers and she was a remarkable reform governor of Alaska, she’s somebody who I think brings a great deal to the possibility of helping in government and that would be one of the possibilities.

If he is so great, why isn’t he leading the pack by double digits? Answer” Baggage. Corrupt. Morals.

Your comment just pushed me over the edge to write in Palin’s name in the Tennessee Primary. I can’t bring myself to vote for the corrupt, DC Hack of Freddie Mac. Nor can I vote for any other of the stooges. So, I will write in Palin’s name. Let the chips fall where they will.

Second, the media would never let up.

I agree with you there. Sarah might be the one person on the planet who is more radioactive than Newt.

If he swears to do so on a stack of bibles then I’m on board!

But I doubt he is serious.

LOL, if you read this he doesn’t say much of anything other than possible energy secretary.

But... there are those that will read much more into it. LMAO!

If he’s sincere and not just prostituting himself for votes...

He's prostituting Sarah for votes.

There is no person on this planet who more motivates the real GOP base than Palin.

Nobody.

All the rest is just electioneering.

With other republicans now on the attack, rather than the Hollywood and democrat left.

It doesn’t matter if a Republican is “radioactive”.

They’ll end up that way, because they’ll be slimed 24/7. Doesn’t matter who they are.

Romney will be villified as Gordon Gecko, and trounced.

All republicans are “radioactive”, or soon will be. It’s how the left does business. Not just for some republicans. For ANY REPUBLICAN WHO SCARES THEM.

What’s needed is for our side to not worry about that and support them anyway. Strongly. Ruthlessly.

Attacking the talking points of the left, and taking the message fight to them.

Not running away from it.

Maybe this will change some FReepers minds about Newt?

Sounds to me that Newt is insecure about his candidacy and feels the need to drop Sarah Palin's name to get better poll numbers.

The headline and Newt’s quote don’t quite match. He was asked a question, and gave a non-committal answer, while praising Palin and what accomplished in AK and could bring to govt. It’s not as if he threw her name out there as someone he’d consider for VP.

I still think she’s better suited to be a fabulous Secy of Energy. The VP slot itself offers little opportunity to get anything accomplished.

This only serves to strengthen my support for Newt Gingrich. This illustrates his excellent ability to judge character and indicates that the Gingrich administration will have the only very best people surrounding him.

GO NEWT GO! Rebellion is brewing! January 2013 will be a Happy Newt Year when a pro-God, pro-Reagan, pro-life, pro-gun, pro-military Constitutional Conservative leads our country back to greatness!

How about a dose of real-world thinking...Newt did not "float" the idea of palin as his veep....he was asked if he would consider palin...what was he going to say - no?

This is seinfeld.

"There is no person on this planet who more motivates the real GOP base than Palin. Nobody"

Then why did she desert the base and refuse to endorse????

THAT only helps Romney and Paul NOT our base.

Yes, and why did it take nearly 6 months for his campaign to get off the ground? Just over 2 months ago, he was hovering around 10%.
