Obama's resolution? To limit dealings with Congress (will use executive authority)
LA Times ^ | January 1, 2012 | Peter Nicholas

Reporting from Honolulu— Heading into the new year, President Obama will insist that Congress renew the payroll tax cut through the end of 2012, but will otherwise limit his dealings with an unpopular Congress, and instead travel the country to deliver his reelection message directly to voters, a White House aide said.

"In terms of the president's relationship with Congress in 2012 — the state of the debate, if you will — the president is no longer tied to Washington, D.C.," spokesman Josh Earnest said in a news briefing in Honolulu.

The assertion is striking given that Obama, as president for nearly three years, is the symbol and personification of the federal government. It also offers a glimpse into an Obama reelection strategy that will target a "do-nothing'' Congress much in the style of Harry S. Truman's reelection campaign in 1948.

With most legislative cliffhangers behind him, Obama does not consider the rest of his policy agenda to be a "must-do" for lawmakers, Earnest said.

Rather, the White House believes Obama would be well-served by continuing to distance himself from a Congress often blamed for Washington's gridlock and infighting.

As the year unfolds, Obama will use executive authority to roll out more initiatives designed to boost the economy and assist struggling families, the White House aide said. Obama has already unveiled 20 such measures under the White House's new slogan, "We can't wait."

Same thing from the AP:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-ap-us-obama-fourthyear,0,2044655.story

The White House believes GOP lawmakers boxed themselves in during the pre-Christmas debate on the tax break and will be hard-pressed to back off their own assertions that it should continue through the end of 2012.

Once that debate is over, the White House says, Obama’s political fate will no longer be tied to Washington.

“Now that he’s sort of free from having to put out these fires, the president will have a larger playing field. If that includes Congress, all the better,” said Josh Earnest, White House deputy press secretary. But, he added, “that’s no longer a requirement.”

Aides say the president will not turn his back on Congress completely in the new year. He is expected to once again push lawmakers to pass elements of his jobs bill that were blocked by Republicans last fall.

If those efforts fail, the White House says, Obama’s re-election year will focus almost exclusively on executive action.

Earnest said Obama will come out with at least two or three directives per week, continuing the “We Can’t Wait” campaign the administration began this fall, and try to define Republicans in Congress as gridlocked and dysfunctional.

If Obama could just get rid of Congress altogether and be Dear Leader, he would be so, so happy.

“Obama’s goal for 2012 -— do nothing and vote present.”

I’d settle for that in a heart beat.

Well, well, well.

Of course it is the LA Times and their cohorts in the MSM who expell this crap.

Now are there any in Congress who will confront Obozo when he again steps past his constitutional authority? This is going to be interesting.

Will it get bad enough for them to take an honest look at his eligibility. Removal is out of the question, but this is an election year. Total exposure of this fraud? Is that possible?

What would be the final cost for the Dems and the RINOs?

Both new from the beginning. Who is actually behind his “selection”?

Treason? Yep, for many.

All of this Obama stuff is worrisome to me, as it is to you folks. Yet it drives me to God, which is a good thing. Though I only see ONE solution to man’s problems, it is specifically Christian: Jesus! As a nation, though, there might be something we can try:

God has continued to work through nations in spite of their current sinful condition, so though we might “deserve” a perverted man as our CIC, is it any more deserving than any of the other nations with far more corrupted systems?

Maybe as in the olden times—I’m thinking of Nineveh—we can spend our 2012 calling on the Lord, repenting of the sins we find in OUR homes (not the supposedly worse ones we find in others’ homes), and asking for HIM to deal with these wicked men in D.C.

Of course He will deal with them in due time, but perhaps we can collectively ask Him to deal with some of them now, as a warning to the others. The Lord can take out anyone He wants at any time, or even humiliate them in such a way they wish they’d been taken out. This isn’t for mere revenge, but in the interests of re-establishing Justice and Honor to our government. Evil men have never belonged in any government before God, they should be exposed and removed.

His power is mighty, let’s ask Him to deal with our enemies (and further, to deal with the work of the Enemy of our souls as he tries to destroy each one of us).

Obama is taking a leaf directly out of Hugo Chavez’s dictator’s manual 101 for making executive orders. Scary stuff.
