Cool, eh?
It is certainly harming the pine trees around here, but I figure he/she wouldn’t peck on them if there weren’t any bugs in them, or a hollow section to makes it’s nest in.
We get Great Blue Herons in the summer. They like the highest trees.
It sounds like a good place to watch birds.
Btw, mares eat oats, and does eat oats, and little lambs eats ivy. A kid will eat ivy too, wouldn’t you?
Arghh!
BWAHAHAHAHAHA!! I can sing the entire song thanks to my mother.
Or not. I guess I need to change the tag, eh?
Tagline!
Tagline!
ARGGGHHH!
we two of those a few days in the spring/summer as well. We have a local pond where birds layover a night or two during season. I just love the bird watching... heck wildlife watching is just pure entertainment!
As far as the woodpecker goes I figure eat the bugs a good thing, plus it is a hoot to watch. Last season one was teaching it’s young to eat the bugs on the trees.. jumping from tree to tree was fun to watch.
Mountain chickadees eat the bugs off our Aspen in season.
There are two feeders hanging in front of the kitchen window, and two suet holders hanging from the fence attached to the closest raised bed.
He/she won't come close to the house, but loves the suet.
We are also blessed with black-capped chickadees, blue jays, tree swallows, and the occasional cardinal.
LOL!
Thanks! Reading the old one was driving me crazy(er).
I agree. Birds are enjoyable to watch.
We had a blue jay that would raid the nut cache Dad had built for the little chipmunk that entertained us in Alaska. We could sit at the kitchen table and watch plenty of wildlife.
Including the occasional bear. ;o]
Off to bed with a good book.
Later...
Good evening, y’all! Power outage this A.M. (Lumber company vs. power line.) Now we only have forest on three sides *sniffle.* Nothing else to do so we burned downed limbs in the firepit all day. Very relaxing out there with a good book and the sun at your back....
Sounds fun.
I had to go teach my Sunday School class, because my assistant texted me saying she was stuck in the airport in Raleigh. Kathleen slept through most of it ... and it’s true it wasn’t my most riveting lesson ...
Thank you for Kathleen update!
OK, now that it has appeared on UT twice, I *have* to ask: You have Sunday School class on Monday?
Oh, what am I thinking. This is the UT, where you suspend reality at the door—but, still....
Large furry kitty finally got off my right arm so that I can wish y’all a good night and sweet dreams!
There has to be something we can use to bash at each other...
On a side note, my little Betta fish is suffering in some unknown fashion.
He lists onto his side in the bottom of the tank & only makes the struggle
to the surface for air. I think I’m going to lose him. The whole time I’ve
had him I’ve tried to think of an appropriate name for him. He’s still just
called the super original moniker, Fish-fish or Fissy.
It has been Thursday that has always confused me.
