So...all of this rioting is over a film/documentary not yet made?...just the mere announcement of a film that is going to be made?

There seems to be some confusion on the threads about which movie is inspiring the riots.

U.S. Embassy Condemns Religious Incitement
September 11, 2012
The Embassy of the United States in Cairo condemns the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims – as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions. Today, the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, Americans are honoring our patriots and those who serve our nation as the fitting response to the enemies of democracy. Respect for religious beliefs is a cornerstone of American democracy. We firmly reject the actions by those who abuse the universal right of free speech to hurt the religious beliefs of others

Obama aids Egypt as it tries to buy U-boats,
Daily Caller ^ | Septembe 10, 2012 | Neil Munro

Posted on Monday, September 10, 2012 3:44:18 PM by opentalk

President Barack Obama’s deputies are negotiating a $1 billion aid package with Egypt’s new Islamist government, even as Egypt’s cash-strapped military revealed that it is trying to buy $1 billion worth of German submarines that could threat Israel’s fast-growing offshore energy projects.

The Germans government has pointedly declined to deny the incendiary revelation about Egypt’s request to buy the two submarines. Instead, the German government offered vague support for Israel, which is facing renewed threats from Iran’s nuclear program and the Muslim Brotherhood’s rise to power in Egypt.

“Obama, Obama, there are still a billion Osamas!” (Shouted in Cairo today- Andrew McCarthy)
The Corner at NRO ^ | September 11, 2012 | Andrew McCarthy

Nina is exactly right that the appalling statement issued by the Obama State Department, apparently prior to the storming of the U.S. embassy in Cairo today, betrays the president’s agenda to impose on Americans sharia speech suppression standards in blatant violation of the First Amendment. That, however, is far from the most egregious part of today’s episode in Egypt.

To attack another country’s embassy is an act of war. Now, some will be quick to point out that our embassy was not attacked by the Egyptian regime. That is no defense. Everybody was on notice that there might be rioting today. It was in anticipation that there could be trouble that the State Department issued its despicable statement — putting the onus for violence on American free speech rather than Islamist savagery. Further, it was almost exactly a year ago that an Egyptian mob stormed the Israeli embassy in Cairo, doing almost exactly what they did today: scaling the embassy walls, tearing down the Israeli flag, and replacing it with their own flag.

In that instance, as in today’s, the Egyptian regime could have made certain that the embassy was secure. It chose not to. Unlike the Israelis, however, we actually pay the Egyptians nearly $1.5 billion a year in military aid — funding Obama not only continued under circumstances where it was obvious Egypt would be ruled by anti-American Islamic supremacists, but also which the president would now have our bankrupt government complement with yet another billion dollars in economic assistance.

What are we getting for this largesse? Egypt has renewed relations with Iran, is seeking to purchase submarines from Germany that could be used to attack Israeli assets, is re-militarizing the Sinai in violation of the Camp David Accords, and now cannot — actually, would not — even protect our embassy. And all this against a background in which the Muslim Brotherhood’s Supreme Guide, Mohammed Badi, called for violent jihad against the United States in 2010, cheered that excursions into Afghanistan and Iraq have put America in its death throes, and reaffirmed — after the Muslim Brotherhood’s electoral victories — the Brotherhood’s ultimate goal of a global caliphate governed by sharia.

Egypt is an enemy of the United States. We wanted free elections and we got them. What they have given us, as I argue in my imminent new book, Spring Fever: The Illusion of Islamic Democracy, is an Egyptian regime that reflects Egypt’s Islamic supremacist population — among the world’s worst human rights violators.

“Obama, Obama, there are still a billion Osamas!” they cried today as they attacked our embassy, shredded our flag, and replaced it with the al Qaeda flag — the one so popular with the “rebels” in Libya and Syria. One of the 9/11 hijackers was an Egyptian, as is the current leader of al Qaeda, as is the Blind Sheikh. A real ally would be embarrassed. An enemy marks the day like Egypt did. The Obama administration marked the day by apologizing for free speech and declining a presidential audience to the prime minister of Israel — our actual ally in the region. President Obama’s calendar is very busy after all: between campaigning and rounds of golf, he’s blocked a day to roll out the red carpet for Egypt’s new president.

Is it too much to hope that the Romney campaign might see an opportunity here to make a point about American national security and foreign policy under Obama? Remember back in 2002, back when we were following the original “with us or against us” Bush Doctrine — back before the doctrine was warped by delusional visions of sharia democracy? Here’s the question: Would they have dared storm the American embassy in Cairo on September 11, 2002?

Do you not think something might have been pre-planned?

Yousef announces TODAY in Jerusalem that he is going to make a film nobody has seen yet, and a US embassy in Egypt is stormed & consulate in Libya set on fire?

And our State Department apologizes?

All of this within hours? on 911?

The son of a founding leader of Hamas has announced that he will be making a movie about Islam with the intention of showing Muslims the “real nature” of Prophet Muhammad.

Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of the spiritual leader of Hamas, Sheikh Hassan Yousef, announced his project in Jerusalem at a press conference on Tuesday.

“I think this is the time to expose the real nature of Islam,” said Yousef to reporters gathered. “Islam is a religion of war and most Muslims don’t understand the true nature of Islam. This is the time and I would like to announce it today here from Jerusalem, next to the Temple Mount.”

http://news.sky.com/story/983922/us-official-killed-in-libya-prophet-protest

A US official has been killed and another wounded in Libya as an armed mob protesting over a film they said offended Islam attacked the US consulate in Benghazi.

Libya’s deputy interior minister Wanis al Sharef said: “One American official was killed and another injured in the hand. The other staff members were evacuated and are safe and sound.” He could not say if the dead man was a diplomat.

In the Egyptian capital, Cairo, protesters climbed the walls of the US embassy, tore down the American flag and burned it.

The protests were sparked by outrage over a video being promoted by an extreme anti-Muslim Egyptian Christian campaigner in the US, which the demonstrators say insults the Prophet Mohammed.

The US condemned the attack in Benghazi, amid reports that the mission had been set on fire and targeted with rocket-propelled grenades.

“We can confirm that our office in Benghazi, Libya, has been attacked by a group of militants,” State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said.

“We condemn in strongest terms this attack,” she added in a statement issued before reports of the death, which came on the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Cue Miss Lindsay Graham and Petraus to demand shira in America again.

Where I came from, there is nothing moderate about treason.

These people have embraced fear of Islam’s (and Obama’s) rage and turned the domestic war on terror against Americans in an effort to train us to submit to lawless, dark authority. Pretty sick and nervy third world turds in power these days.

U.S. Embassy Favors Religious Feelings over Free Speech, Attacked Anywaybr> By Nina Shea

The U.S. Embassy in Cairo has posted on its homepage a special message for 9/11 today. Its only purpose is to condemn what they call “religious incitement.” While calling for religious harmony is understandable and welcome, this short statement goes much further: It essentially upholds the Muslim anti-blasphemy standard that the Egyptian government applies in its ban on “insult to heavenly religions,” and that has long been championed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in U.N. resolutions calling for the universal criminalization of religious defamation and in its campaign against all forms of “Islamophobia.” Most U.N. member-states supported these OIC resolutions, but, year in and year out over a decade, the United States has opposed them.

The U.S. embassy redefines and limits freedom of speech to that speech which others, and, explicitly Muslims, do not find offensive: The embassy asserts that to “hurt the religious beliefs of others” is to “abuse the universal right of free speech.” Of course, the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment protects even insulting and offensive speech, as well as “hate speech” and even advocacy of violence, unless the advocacy is directed to inciting imminent and likely violence (see the 1969 Supreme Court case Brandenburg v. Ohio). The First Amendment does not uphold the heckler’s veto — that is, expression does not lose its protection because the listener objects, even violently objects, to it. The embassy’s statement implies that U.S. First Amendment rights conflict with the “universal right of free speech,” and that the latter should take precedent.

The embassy may have been trying to appease fanatics who have expressed anger about a film they claim is being made in the U.S. that insults the Muslim prophet. If so, its statement denouncing American freedoms didn’t work; it is now being reported that an Egyptian mob today stormed the embassy wall, took down and burned the American flag, and tried to hoist al-Qaeda’s in its place.

Our ambassador over there is Anne W. Patterson, who holds the highest rank in the career Foreign Service. Her last post was to serve as U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, a country with one of the world’s strictest anti-blasphemy regimes. It appears Ambassador Patterson has forgotten that she’s in Cairo to represent America and its values. It’s time to bring her home.

Although it was not clear which film prompted the protests, Egypt’s prestigious Al-Azhar mosque and seat of Sunni learning condemned on Tuesday a symbolic “trial” of the Prophet organized by a U.S. group including Terry Jones, a Christian pastor who triggered riots in Afghanistan in 2010 by threatening to burn the Koran.

According to the website www.standupamericanow.org, Jones and others were due to take part in an event on Tuesday - the anniversary of the September 11 attacks by al Qaeda on U.S. cities - called “International Judge Mohammad Day” in Florida. It was due to be carried live on the Internet.

Some activists had mentioned Jones in calls for a protest.

Police Arrest U.S. Citizen With Alleged Hezbollah Members in Mexico

Rafic Mohammad Labboun Allaboun, an American citizen, was arrested Saturday night in the company of a number of suspected Hezbollah operatives, the Yucutan Times reports.

American authorities had already issued an international alert for the man, so after his arrest Allaboun was directly transported to Houston, Texas.

The two other suspected extremists, Justin Yasser Safa from Belize and George Abdalah Elders, remain in Mexican custody, the Times of Israel relates.

Apparently Allaboun attempted to convince Mexican authorities he was from Belize as well, even showing them a fake passport before his arrest.

American authorities have long been concerned about radical organizations infiltrating our porous southern border.

In 2011, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney warned that the existence of such groups throughout Latin America, particularly in collusion with the drug cartels, pose a “significant and imminent threat to the United States of America.”

U.S. intelligence agencies recently monitored a secret meeting between Egypt’s intelligence chief and a senior Iranian spy that is raising new fears the Muslim Brotherhood government in Cairo could begin covertly supporting global terrorism.

According to U.S. officials, the head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service, Maj. Gen. Murad Muwafi, met in early August with a senior official of Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS).

Disclosure of the Egyptian-Iranian intelligence meeting comes as the Obama administration is planning to provide $1 billion in aid to bail out Egypt’s new Islamist government. The administration is said to be seeking closer ties to the new regime in Cairo, following the ouster in February 2011 of long-time ally Hosni Mubarak.

Many members of the pro-democratic, anti-Muslim Brotherhood opposition in Egypt believe the Obama administration has made a covert pact to support the Morsi regime.

Meanwhile in Cairo, Islamic protesters on Tuesday stormed the U.S. Embassy and pulled down the American flag to protest what they said was a U.S. film production the protesters claimed insulted Islam.

U.S. intelligence gathering targeting Egypt has been stepped up over the past year as the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, an Islamist party, came to power in June. The group’s credo includes the phrase, “Allah is our objective; the Quran is our law, the Prophet is our leader; jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations.”

US ambassador to Libya and 3 embassy staff members reportedly killed in Libya
Published September 12, 2012
FoxNews.com
DEVELOPING: The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other embassy staff members were reportedly killed Tuesday in an attack on the Libyan city of Benghazi, Reuters and AP report citing a Libyan official.

Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland tells Fox News they do not yet have information on the reports of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens’ death at the moment. The U.S. Embassy in Tripoli says they can only confirm there was an attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi and one State Department employee was killed, which Secretary of State Clinton said in a statement Tuesday.

The officials tell the Associated Press Ambassador Stevens was killed Tuesday night when he and a group of embassy employees went to the consulate to try to evacuate staff. The protesters were firing gunshots and rocket propelled grenades. All of the officials — three in all — hold senior security positions in Benghazi.

They are deputy interior minister for eastern Libya Wanis al-Sharaf; Benghazi security chief Abdel-Basit Haroun; and Benghazi city council and security official Ahmed Bousinia.

Ambassador Stevens was appointed as ambassador to Libya in May 2012, according to an online State Department biography.

Romney calls Obama administration’s early response to attacks a disgrace

WASHINGTON – Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney criticized the Obama administration in the wake of attacks on U.S. diplomatic missions in Egypt and Libya on Tuesday, branding as “disgraceful” an early response to the assault in Cairo as sympathizing with the attackers.

The assaults were linked to a video being promoted by an extreme anti-Muslim Egyptian Christian in the U.S. Protesters say the video posted on the Internet, a 14-minute trailer for a movie, attacks Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

Protesters scaled the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to replace the American flag with an Islamic banner. In the Libyan city of Benghazi, an American was shot to death as protesters burned and looted the U.S. consulate.

The U.S. Embassy in Cairo issued a statement saying, in part, that it condemns “the continuing efforts by misguided individuals to hurt the religious feelings of Muslims — as we condemn efforts to offend believers of all religions.” The statement, an apparent reference to the video, was posted hours before the American’s death in Libya was reported.

In a statement Tuesday night, Romney said he was outraged by the attacks and the death of the American consulate worker. He added: “It’s disgraceful that the Obama administration’s first response was not to condemn attacks on our diplomatic missions, but to sympathize with those who waged the attacks.”

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, in a statement released about the same time as Romney’s, condemned the attack in Libya “in the strongest terms.”

“Some have sought to justify this vicious behavior as a response to inflammatory material posted on the Internet,” Clinton said. “The United States deplores any intentional effort to denigrate the religious beliefs of others. Our commitment to religious tolerance goes back to the very beginning of our nation. But let me be clear: There is never any justification for violent acts of this kind.”

In response to Romney, White House spokesman Ben LaBolt said in an email early Wednesday: “We are shocked that, at a time when the United States of America is confronting the tragic death of one of our diplomatic officers in Libya, Gov. Romney would choose to launch a political attack.”
