The 1950s weren’t the good old days. Blacks lived totally segregated lives and were treated like dirt, women worked at mostly menial jobs and were paid less than men even for the same work, and the general standard of living was much lower...some parts of the US didn’t even have electricity at that time. I know because I lived in one of them.
We weren’t isolationists in the 1950s, but in Paul’s deranged mind, if we just dump all of our power and kiss the Muslim hand, all will be well.
It’s a weird fantasy, and it has definite racist overtones. As you said, Paul’s candidacy is showing people’s true colors, and you might want to examine yours.
That's a great idea. He really, truly creeps me out, and every election (since like Lyndon LaRouche, he is a perpetual candidate) when I see Paul bumper stickers I immediately lose all respect for the person driving the vehicle bearing them...most often a modified hippie van or 20 yr old beater of some kind...
And the Paulistas are definitely flooding this site.
It's almost a full time job trying to stay abreast of these folks. One retread gets the ZOT and sure enough, we're disgraced by their return!
Unfortunately, he has both a ceiling and a floor, (20% or thereabout) which can keep him in the running for quite a stretch.

Plus, his supporters have NOTHING to do in the world other than smoke pot and push Paul and they are entirely opposed to even considering any other candidate.

I’m really surprised it hasn’t been worse here. They spam everything. Look at YouTube videos that have nothing to do with politics, video game forums, etc. They are there as well...there’s no escape.
Most of that trash they most reminds me of the ‘Moonies’ walking through traffic back in the 60s-70s handing out flowers (totally brainless/brainwashed):p

It seems I’m always late getting onto threads toward the beginning and I have to read to catch up. I wish the Paultards could be identified quickly and removed. Maybe the moderators are so busy they can’t get to them all quickly. I don’t know how many moderators there are - maybe they need help.
Anyway, these Paultards are typical of Paul’s supporters - they are just as crazy as he is and they waste their time getting on here. The Romney nuts do the same.

The moderators do an excellent job but these Paultards are all over the place!

UGH @ the weather in Iowa for tomorrow, but I’m at the point where I just want Iowa *over*, and DONE. Far too much attention and emphasis on Iowa’s caucus. The lamestream and the local stations have made a mint from the pruchase of attack ads. So be it.
Informed voters and all that alleged emphasis on in person glad handing and meet and greets? Pfffft.
