Here is Rick Santorum explaining exactly what happened. He was there. Dummie underground, Snopes, & on & on just cutting and pasting the same exact story.

We know a friend who redid her mom’s makeup at the funeral parlor before allowing her to be viewed.

What Santorum did was an act of love. This child was born and died, and for Colmes to even bring this up in such a fashion is evil evil evil.

Yes.

A good wake reminds you of the history of the person and his/her influence on our lives. It is also important to see a dead person to be able to say your goodbyes.

I don’t know how old the other children were at the time, but being around their parents while their parents were with them alone, to explain the death of the baby, would be an important thing for the family. Frankly, this applies to any member of the family, too, in the event that someone passes.

If anyone ever deserved an asswhoopin of the highest order it would be the waste of a human skin, alan colmes.A broken jaw would probably help his looks. What a disgusting worm.

I am never surprised by colmes’ nastiness or idiocy. He’s very ugly on the inside and it has been seeping out for a long time. Now his ugliness is on display for all to see......before he utters a word.

If lowery had any balls he would have knocked the stuffing out of the creep for saying that.

I put roses next to my dad's hands while laying in the casket, and my brothers put pictures next to him.
The way the Santorum's mourned their beloved son coming home from the hospital is the way people mourned a long time ago, what's wrong with that ? as long as the doctors and health department gives their ok.
There were not hospitals like we have it today many centuries ago.
People were born at home, and sometimes died at home.

Piers whatever praises Santorum for doing a great thing, but still calls it “controversial” like the liberal punk he is.

I guess now when your baby dies you’re supposed to throw them away. Incredible for anyone to even question Rick and his wife on this.

I’ve never had to stand in those shoes. As a father of 5 and a grandfather? Heartbreaking is all I can say.

Hiyas.

My sainted mother told many a story of folks wanting to actually dig up and see the dead person. Apparently, one woman was not dead, woke up six feet under, and had attempted to claw her way out of the casket.

My mother and someone else took care of the body of my paternal grandmother. They put her body in the bathtub, cut someplace to let the blood flow, and then washed her up and decked her out for the wake.

I’m not fond of the way we Americans sanitize death. I think it creates terrible fears about death - as if we didn’t have enough worries about that anyway!

Of course, I also admire the Jews ways of dealing with death. The body is immediately buried but they spend days at home (sometimes with mirrors covered) mourning the lost one. They then must put that death in perspective and move on. Beautiful.

The only thing “beneath” colmes is his slime trail. He has been and will always remain a sewer dwelling bottom feeder.

To speak further on his character would require describing anatomically impossible contortions, descriptions of bodily processes and vehement expletives...

Santorum would probably win a lot of votes for walking up to Colmes and punching him square in the face for these remarks.

I agree 90% of America will think the mocking of a dead baby is weird.

"Colmes is ugly, inside and out."

Every now and then I listen to his progressive radio talk show. The nastiness he shows now and then on TV is NOTHING compared to the personality that slips out on the radio. I think he embodies the vulgar and hateful liberal heart. Hopefully some of those voters residing in the independent middle get to see a little of him via his cameo appearances on TV. The personality he displayed on the old H & C show was a modest put on.

What’s amazing is the liberals bash the Santorums for mourning for their beloved son, but, have no problem mourning Kim Jong Ill last week.

Any birth is a much-anticipated event - every child is talked about, planned for, waited for. To not bring the child back to the home, and provide closure for the siblings, could have resulted in those children having problems with with the normal events of loss and losing a loved one later in life. I think the Santorums were very enlightened, and courageous, in the way they did this. It must have been excruciating for both parents. I give Santorum a lot of credit. Alan Colmes is a degenerate, who cares what he says...

They often died at home in those days. My favorite book, Thomas Wolfe’s beautiful “Look Homeward Angel,” deals with this very sensitively and, I’m afraid, very realistically. As he says, death is messy. There is no way around it and we better get used to it.

To play with the child would be crazy. To greave privately as a family, spend time in prayer, and comfort one another would not be. Colmes was unkind to use his words in such a way.
