I think the author is absolutely right, and I’ve said the same thing about Palin many times on FR. The rabid Palin contingent shouted me down, right up the point where she declined to grace us with a run for president. Palin is like Trump; a shameless self promoter who is in love with her own celebrity. She quit being governor of Alaska to cash in as a TV star and hasn’t looked back. Let her get rich. I have no problem with that. But she needs to stop pretending that she is some kind of deep political thinker or stateswoman who wants to save America. She wants to get richer. Palin is only out for Palin.

i never understood her quitting the governor position. That is a deal breaker for a Pres run...you just can’t trust her.

We no doubt will get flamed ...its already happening ...instead of posters just responding to the criticisms.

Full disclosure: if you were concerned about politicians milking things for money, you'd be trashing Pelosi, Reid, Bawney Fwank, Christopher Dodd, Franklin Raines, Jamie Gorelick, Al Gore, ...

Instead, you check in on the night of the Iowa Caucuses, in order to pile on in a sour-grapes whinefest about Palin.

Huh.

Cheers!

You didn't get shouted down because you don't like Palin. You got shouted down because you are a lying a-hole.

Wrong, but you probably already know that. She quit being governor of Alaska so that her family wouldn't be bankrupted by the endless stream of frivilous lawsuits which, even though she'd been in office almost two years, didn't begin until right after she'd been chosen the VP nominee. Every single charge had to be investigated, and were judged unfounded, but as soon as she left the office, the lawsuits stopped. Coincidence? I don't think so.

She got the gig with FoxNews, because the network determined she could bring more eyeballs to their shows. It was only later that she got the TLC show.

She had always said she'd make the decision whether or not to run in the Fall, and that's what she did. She had a lot at stake in her decision, mostly because of how it would affect her family. She knew that the MSM would continue their attacks against her children, and though she acknowledged that she was fair game, she detested the way they treated her children. And sadly, the Republican party didn't seem interested in criticizing the MSM for their actions against Sarah's family.
