Why? He makes some good points, and I speak as someone who liked Sarah Palin, but was disappointed in the way she kept stringing people along about her decision..

I have to say I used to have a very good opinion of her, but that non-candidacy bus tour of hers was for what purpose? To go on tour, raise money and then say no is just plain erratic behavior that jerked a lot of people around. The TV show also was pretty good, but politically it made no sense. Resigning the governorship because she was being attacked just didn't quite figure either.

I'm not even sure what Sarah Palin is. A candidate? No. A commentator? Sort of. A powerful force for change? No because she hasn't tried. At this point I just have Palin fatigue.

“but that non-candidacy bus tour of hers was for what purpose?”

Her fans on FR were convinced that once she got the bus, it was a sure sign that she was running. As one who never bought into the Palin worship, I felt she was going to run at that point too...why else would you paint a bus and go on a tour? So people on both ends of the Palin spectrum came to the same conclusion but it didn’t happen. Your question is a good one. I am sure someone will say that Palin ‘brilliantly’ planned this for some reason.

I think a gray, empty suit from a gray, empty political party made her an offer she could not refuse. Not to her benefit, but still one she could not refuse.

That’s because you’re a dummy! She was always clear that she had not made up her mind yet, but you wanted to be clairvoiant and got burned because of it!
