I agree that Newt is very strong in debates and would send Obama home crying like a baby.

However, don’t place too much emphasis on debates. An Obama-Gingrich debate might happen twice, with only 1 out of 13 million likely voters watching. And most of those watching would be those hoping for Newt to destroy Obama. The questions will be biased and designed for “gotcha” traps. The reporting of the debates will be biased, Obamas “uhs” and “ahs” will be edited out of news clips, and the best Newt can hope from the MSM is for the debates to be called a tie.

So, absent some really wild gaffe by Obama (and remember, “57 states” is not wild enough), the debates will not cause many squishy-middle types to decide in favor of Newt.

Obama is not good at facing a challenge and McCain didn’t challenge Obama at all. However, any one of the current GOP candidates WOULD challenge Obama (except for maybe Huntsman) and would do well in a debate.
