I watched each one of the nominees [no Huntsman] make an impressive short term rise .... then a steep decline. I think, had Iowa not happened, Santorum, too, would sink in the polls.
I really like Perry and perhaps naively thought there might be a second round of the roller coaster and Perry would have a second chance. Perry is in the mold of a national GOP winner.
I don’t like Newt and strongly feel he cannot win in a general election. If Perry does’t spark, then it’s Santorum for me but I have doubts about Santorum’s appeal in the general election.
Sigh.
I like Santorum, he’s a strong conservative, but seriously, does anyone really think he will get the independents? I swore I would not beat down any of the GOP candidates and do the DNC’s work for them, as MANY Freepers have done and I think I have for the most part stuck that promise to myself. I hesitated to even say this about Santorum.
