Food for thought from today’s Rasmussen poll nationally among likely GOP voters:
Former U.S. Senator Rick Santorum, coming off his photo finish with Mitt Romney in the Iowa caucuses, is now in second place among Republican voters in the race for the partys 2012 presidential nomination.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, taken the night after the caucuses, shows Romney again in first place with support from 29% of Likely Republican Primary Voters, followed by Santorum with 21%.
Re Santorum being in second place nationally...
We haven’t had a debate in awhile. Let’s see what the polls show after the next debate or two. Debates are Gingrich’s strength, and now that he plans to take the gloves off regarding Romney, the next couple debates should be interesting, and we’ll see how that plays out in the subsequent polls.
Personally, I think we need a Pit Bull in the White House. That’s Newt.
How does a guy with no political base (thanks to “conservatives”) win the presidency? It may not be impossible but has never happened. And I love Santorum.
