NASHUA, N.H. – Mitt Romney has survived 2011’s Republican debates relatively unscathed, a key factor in his solidifying his place at the GOP presidential frontrunner. But tonight, Romney’s likely to come under fire more than ever before, and he’ll have to get through the debate without the help of Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn.

Exactly, I don’t love Romney but this screeching jihad has taken out good people because they didn’t act like they hated him enough. That’s no way to win an election.

We’re going to lose this election to Obama simply because the enemies list has gotten longer than the friends list.

Arizona Sheriff Paul Babu is now on the enemies list because he came out in support of Romney today.

What about those who Paul has attacked?

Yep. I’m 51 years old and this whole primary season has me very disheartened, as if McCain as our nominee in ‘08 wasn’t enough. I have never been so disillusioned about the Republican party. I listen to Beck quite a bit and I think he’s right. The progressives have taken over both parties. Makes me a little sick to my stomach. Been hitting the Pepto Bismol a lot lately. Errrrr.....

What network is the debate on tonight? I can’t find it.

The next time you work your behind off to become a member of the U.S. Congress and a champion of the Tea Party in a very liberal state, get back to me. You can be happy she's out of the race, but to call her an embarrassment reflects badly on you.

When we turn on our own in that way, it really is over. Save your vitriol for the socialists.

“unscathed”

Is that what they call a pass from the press these days?

Her district is not liberal, after ten years in political office we still don’t have anything from her.

The progressives have taken over both parties.

Understand your point, but "progressives" have not taken over the Republican party.

Instead, the Republican establishment is composed of people without an ideology -- political technocrats and pragmatists.

While liberals seek power so that they can create a socialist utopia and exert totalitarian power, the Republican establishment seeks power so that they can chair the committees and "run things". That is as far as their "vision" extends.

There is nothing in particular that they want to accomplish. In fact, they recognize that implementing a conservative agenda would be...hard! And they're not interested in investing that kind of effort...

In a way, calling them "progressives" gives them more credit than they're due...

I’m in Carver County. What exactly do you want from her policy-wise? I ask this in all earnestness. John Kline is my Congressman. I’m glad when we don’t get anything because it means less out of my pocketbook.

Zero accomplishments in 10 years, zero leadership in anything.

I was very angry at how the men just rolled over her in the Congress, and when Cantor shut her out of leadership but I have come to see that why, and why it was so easy to do it, she votes right and that serves us well, but that is the most we will ever get from her, there is something flat and just a ittle off center about her.

I agree that this whole mess has degraded into a lot of ugly attacks, including those from Ron Paul on to others.

You make some very good points.

In the end, it comes to the same result, and we the people are not involved. We are slaves to the system.

Newt and Cain were the only ones not attacking other Republicans, and Newt has been carpet bombed and Cain has been run off.

No. We are not. The key is to translate the Tea Party movement into a takeover of the Republican Party -- starting at the precinct level.

Understand that the left did exactly this to the Democrat party. In 1968, the radicals were rioting in Grant Park, outside the International Amphitheater where the Democrat convention was being held.

By 1972, they were inside the convention -- nominating George McGovern.

It's going to take the same kind of effort on our part.

Cain was a good man, but not totally prepared for a run. Newt is a great pick, but sadly the idiot public would not go for him.
