In the US, 80% of violent crimes are committed by criminals who’ve already served time for violent crimes.
Which means that crime could be reduced considerably if we moved money away from having more police, and instead had more prison space, along with more prosecutors who had a mandate to put away repeat violent offenders with no plea bargain.
