Newt is a Conservative most of the time. He may or may not be a Christian, i.e., a born-again Christian. (He is a “small-c” christian, in that he isn’t Jewish, Muslim, atheist, etc.) One thing he isn’t is evangelical. (Catholics and evangelical Christians are completely separate.)
Not saying he wouldn’t be a good president; I think he would.
