So what came of Bain’s involvement except (if they were true to form) Bain collected their fee?

Here is a post on this question from tcrlaf on January 7th:

“GS was an AGING, money-losing Steel Mill facing imminent closure because they couldn’t pay for the upgrades required under the Clean Air Act. And they were just like dozens of other small steel mills in America.

Romney& Co. bought it, paid for upgrading it, then SOLD IT. The pensions were lost in the LATER 2001 BANKRUPTCY, the mill went out of business when it filed Chapter 11 again in 2007, YEARS AFTER BAIN SOLD IT!”
