Is it just me, but why do stories like this get published by UK papers and websites and not in the United States where the events actually happen?
Could it be the American MSM has an agenda to disarm the citizenry? Of course not, how silly to even think that. (sarcasm off)

Perhaps because the press over there has this image of the US as the Wild West, and are using these stories as ‘horrible examples’ of the need for civilized British anti-gun laws here. Hence the closing of comments when the responses were overwhelmingly positive.
