You mentioned the normal republican way of doing things.

Guess that means after Obama runs over Romney we will get to vote for Lindsey Graham in 2016.

When asked about the marine pissing episode, our guys should throw it back on the lib interrogators and say, “Why don’t you ask Obama? It’s his Abu Ghraib.”
Why do our guys have to be the objects of the DBM’s righteous indignation? Obama is the commander in chief.

I don’t think it’s a hit piece (at least not for Michelle). I think Kantor has been surprised at Michelle’s reaction. It could be Michelle is pretending to overreact to how she says Kantor has characterized her to draw attention away from the description of the White House inner circle as being dysfunctional.

All I know, is that Scheiffer thought the book was complimentary to Michelle.

Just heard William Kristol on FNS. He’s right. Let the military handle such a low level minor incident.

What is really despicable is what our own Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense said and making a bigger issue of this than deserved.

Compared to a John Kerry or a Dick Durbin or any number of other Democrats, our Marines are choirboys.

We’re supposed to be better than this though kabar. We’re professionals...not hired thugs in some third world hell hole.

We can fight and defeat them without resorting to their tactics.

Hence the reason I’m torn about the whole thing.

I agree and although I am a conservative both with a big and little ‘c’ sometimes my choice of candidate is not the one who will will at the general election.

The ideal candidate would be a conservative who comes over as energetic and can engage with the media even if they do not agree with them but at least get there respect. Does such a person exist?

That’s what happens when you get people that have no prior experience or love for the military in places where they deal with us daily.

We...soldiers have something else Kerry or Durbin will never have...honor and integrity.

Again I sit up in shock. Hey, I really thought the Paris Peace talks at the time were legit, not just a cover for ending the war. So is this talk of peace with Taliban a way to get us out of Afghanistan...come on, I got a bridge to sell anyone who’s dumb enough to believe that a loose bunch of nutballs using a religion as a reason to rape, murder and control a populace is going to adhere to any kind of peace treaty.

The North Vietnamese didn't adhere to what was negotiated and yes it was just a vehicle to get us out of the war. The South Vietnamese fought two more years on their own until the Dem controlled Congress cut off arms supplies and other logistics.

Any agreement with the Taliban will eventually lead to the Taliban retaking Afghanistan. The remaining American troops there now are risking their lives for nothing. This amounts to surrender by us. Just like North Vietnam was on the verge of defeat until we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, so too now we are doing the same thing. The only reason the Taliban are negoitiating is because they are losing. We are just giving them a lifeline.

I found it amusing that the Taliban spokesman commenting on the urinating on Taliban corpses decried the Marines' actions but said that it would not affect ongoing negotiations. Of course it won't. Moreover, it actually helps them in the negotiations. I wonder if the Obama administration leaked the video to gain support from the US public to bug out as soon as possible from this "immoral war" where US troops are committing atrocities. That was the message when John Kerry testified before Congress as part of the anti-war movement when he returned from his 4 and one-half months in Vietnam replete with 3 phony PHs.

Right after 911 on cars everywhere was a cartoon sticker of someone peeing on Osama. These young Marines probably have seen this and when they got the opportunity (even though it was not Osama) They just did what LOTS of people had stuck on their cars.

I have personally known people who didn’t vote for Bush/Cheney because they thought Cheney was ugly. I knew a woman who voted for Bill Clinton because she liked his hair.

Our country is full of people who vote like it is American Idol. Or they vote because they do what their parents did. Or based on what the union wants.

Reagan succeeded because he was both likeable and the country was desperate to have a change from Carter. As a former democrat who voted for Reagan against Carter, I can tell you that Reagan didn’t scare me when I saw him, and I was so desperate I figured “He can’t be worse than Carter, and at least he won’t embarrass us.” That was my sole, uninformed reason for my Reagan vote at the age of 31. Subsequently I became more educated and never went back to voting democrat.

This is why that although Newt says some good things, to the uninformed he looks like a pudgy old guy with crazy ideas. It’s why Santorum hasn’t caught on, because the dim bulbs think he’s preachy. You really do have to think about stuff outside the realm of ideas when you are running for president. As I said last week, Gore won those debates on points, but he was such an obnoxious SOB and Bush was likeable and funny, so people went for Bush as a guy they could stand seeing on TV for the next 4 years.

Likeability is far more important than people realize, and our late friend Common Tator said it was THE deciding factor in elections since television came into wide=spread use. This is why I support Perry. I think if he makes it to the general, he will have a better chance against Obama.

But I will vote for my dog before I vote for Obama. And I will support whoever winds up being the GOP candidate.

Newsweek’s Allison Samuels bluntly took Michelle Obama’s side against liberal New York Times reporter Jodi Kantor, who somehow caused the First Lady to assert she was being painted as an angry black woman, so sad to blacks who Samuels wrote “were certain the mere presence of Michelle Obama on the international stage” would fix things.

I don't think it was. These rules have been in place since 1999. The state legislature sets the rules, e.g., 10,000 signatures from registered voters with at least 400 coming from each of the 11 Congressional districts, and pays for and administers the primary. We don't have party registration. It is an open primary. When you go to the voting place, you declare which slate of candidates you are voting for, Rep or Dem.

I live a few miles from Newt in the same community. I attend our monthly Rep county meetings. We have over 600 members. The county has three Cong districts that include parts of the county. Rep candidates have used the monthly meetings to collect signatures as well as at other adjacent county GOP meetings. Romney and Paul folks were there collecting signatures starting in July. I don't recall Newt ever having someone there collecting signatures.

Whatever one may think of the rules in VA, the time to challenge them is not after the fact, but when they were announced in March. Newt is not on the ballot in Missouri, Santorum is not on the ballot in DC. Huntsman failed to get on the ballot in AZ. Either you are a serious candidate or you are not.

From my understanding, it only took Oprah about 3 years listening to Rev Wright’s rhetoric to leave the Church because she knew it wasn’t for her, I’ll give Oprah some credit for that instinct of knowing what wasn’t good for her.

Why Rev. Wright Was Wrong for Oprah

VAN SUSTEREN: Well, I don’t mean to quibble with you, but it took 20 years until, you know, people started playing it on TV, for him to get the message. And Oprah, for whatever reason, got the message sooner on her own.

And what should concern us even more is that while he’s consolidating his own power...he’s knee capping the military and it’s ability to protect this country and fulfill our obligations to allies do help in their defense...at a time when the wolves are sharpening their claws. You can’t convince me he’s not doing it on purpose.

It is on purpose.

But I still think he's just a bisexual marionette candidate being played by a number of players.

Letting two terrorists out of Gitmo to get other terrorists to sit down in Qatar is bizarre behavior at best but put it in an all candidate all the time mode and it's who he is.

This clown thinks if he closes down operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, at any cost, he can pyramid that and Seal Team Six's killing of Ossamma into getting reelected.

If he does it means we didn't do our job well enough and that won't happen.

In the end, No mention made of the 911 Victory Mosque sale by BAIN.

No mention is made that BAIN also owns FOX News.

While I'm no Romney fan all I ask is please don't stoop to the level of a Democrat.
