I completely disagree. The Republican party shifted to the left, has been going that way for many years.
Conservatives have not changed, the R's are leaving us.
Nonsense. Conservatives cannibalized their own in this election cycle looking for the perfect candidate, allowing Romney a path to the nomination.
Two thumbs up FRiend!
“Now we get Romney because it is his turn and we could very well lose.”
Bank on it.
One could argue the Tea Party gave us Romney because too many refused to except a candidate that wasn't perfect.
Conservatives have failed to be smart enough to pick and rally around the most conservative alternative to Romney, allowing him a path to victory.
Isn’t Palm Beach Gardens a country club type of place?
The Tea Party never had the chance to rally around a Conservative candidate, the media made sure it never happened.
Think Cain and Palin.
It would be a lot easier to seperate Romney from Obamacare if the same advisors who helped Romeny produce his plan had not been used to create the Obama plan. If the nod goes to Romney, you can flush Obamacare as an issue.
That you don't consider Bachmann, Perry, Gingrich or Santorum conservative is the problem.
All are even if they aren't perfectly conservative and anyone of them would/would have been a much better nominee than Romney.
Decades ago both parties were mostly conservatives. The rich have learned to vote themselves money and has left us.
Conservatism is dying.
My only question at this point isn't how to save conservatism because it can not be saved after the rich left us. but how do we create a government that will always revert to socialism.
“Conservatism is dying”
Please do not be discouraged. Conservatism has never been tried.
not in recent years I agree. But decades ago both parties were made up of mostly conservatives.
“We do not have a leader. a fighter, a patriot who will put their country before all else.”
Of course we do. God set him on this road, trained him in the ways of service through scouting and church. He gave him a great sense of humor and made him a proud Texas Aggie. He forced him to look challenges in the eye and say no to those who would have him compromise his beliefs. He was made to wait his turn each step of the way.He flew C-130 aircraft in the Air Force. He worked hard at marriage and has been an admirable parent. He is a good friend to all and helps strangers. Being a Christian means something to him and he doesn’t waste his life searching for a God who may hide in different religions. He’s confident. He’s a Patriot. He’s the leader of the Republican Governor Association. His name is Governor Rick Perry. BUT, he’s from Texas so that’s that. Next.
Steve, don’t give up. We need the right leader, that’s all. Romney is not it. Someone, out there will need to lead a positive fight. At least, we have each other until that leader steps up.
It certainly is being redefined towards center left. There are simply not many citizens who have any idea of what is in the Constitution nor what the framers had in mind for this Republic. Sad, but true.
It isn't dying because it is leaderless or poor ideas. It is dying because the governmental system we have accommodates socialism.
If your post was sincere:
Not true. But the way we regain our rightful authority in this nation is not apparent...yet.
If your post was frivolous:
Not helpful.
I voted for Romney in the 2008 primary, too, but that was an anti-McCain vote. Now I’m looking for the anti-Romney vote.
Romney sure can talk the talk. He sure SOUNDS conservative, but everything about him gives me the heebie-jeebies.
Any form of government no matter how great it was originally will always grow and will always revert to some type of socialistic state.
