How many of us worked when we were 13? even if it was babysitting or yardwork? NEWT NAILED IT.....WOOT WOOT!!!!

Heck I was picking strawberries at 14 next to the mexican and asian migrant workers.

I worked Picking Green beans and Strawberries, made money for school clothes, I got to pick out the clothes I liked.

I was 12.

Picking potatoes at 8 yrs old.

LOVED it - out of school for 2 weeks, working in the sun alongside adults - like I was valuable too - AND money in my pocket - commensurate with my efforts.

And I was a little girl.

As for being out of school 2 weeks - we had a one room, one teacher school - and we were academically a year ahead of the big city schools.

That was another era - in a free America

Yes, babysat at 12 and sold flower seeds door to door even younger for prizes...loved those flower seeds!
