Satin Doll: Newt Gingrich has done more to put Ronald Reagan’s conservative policies into government
practice than anyone else presently running for the Republican Party presidential nominee position.

I agree: I’m absolutely convinced that Newt Gingrich is the junkyard dog we need to rip Obama a new one and send him running back to his Chicago cesspool with his tail between his legs. Newt has considerable DC experience as Speaker, executive ability from his many enterprises, and a silver tongue that’s razor sharp! He’s fast on his feet, delivers his messages straight up, and is often witty. His work with American Solutions was very impressive in that he was able to enunciate core principles with which the vast majority of Americans agree. He also has plenty of practical ideas for making government work better for taxpayers. Is Newt pure as the driven snow? No - none of the presidential candidates are. Whatever Newt’s “baggage”, it’s miniscule compared to Obama’s hidden closet skeletons and unlike Obama, Newt is 100% American. Newt is like Larry the Cable Guy: send him to DC and he’ll “Git ‘er done” for all of us. Junkyard dogs are not show dogs, but they’ll save your bacon! Go git ‘im, Newt!

Roll eyes.

Yeah, right. You really think I'm Coulter?

Truth is...I'm not a Romney fan. Been rooting against him this whole time. However, I'm not a Newt fan either. And I find it hard to believe there's so many Newt fans lately on FR who apparently have forgotten his track record.

PLEASE READ

You know let’s get serious for a moment, and if anyone knows someone high up in Newt’s campaign they need to take this advice as there is something that would kill Newt dead in the water:

1. Paparazzi photos of him in a bathing suit or bermuda shorts and wing tips.
2. Wearing a Truman Capote hat.
3. Going on SNL and making an @ss hat out of himself.
4. Doing Letterman’s top ten list that would poke fun at himself.
5. Wearing a dorky helmit or coveralls like Dukakis and Kerry.

I don’t have the affection for Newt like I did for Reagan, but I think Newt will be likeable over time if he does great things.

Ann Coulter loves to bash him with he talks the talk but not the walk, but you need to be president to walk the walk.

He’s far from perfect. If he had the Palin smile, the Romney good looks, athletic like Jack Kemp etc we’d go nutso for him... but he’s not.

He’s like Babe Ruth. He’s the Bambino.

Americans like a winner. They like someone who doesn’t whine and plays to win. I don’t hear Newt asking these others to drop off.

If he wins he’ll get the respect he needs from the DC Elites, but it won’t be easy. Winning SC would be HUGE...I mean HUGE!!!!!!! I don’t see him doing it, but I think he’ll be respectable.

Please watch this High School Meeting from last week. Scroll to around 22 minutes or so...Then tell me if you still dislike the guy.

LIVE Spartanburg County Republican Party & Greenville County ...

For the liberal crybabies Newt is talking about knocking down/out the Obama agenda of transforming America.

I say, I do not want to hear empty good feeling promises from a liberal empty suit candidate.

If the messenger is strong, with respect, so be it! Strength to liberals is something they cannot respond to. They just cry that you are being mean to them.

I don't think you get it. It's not about the smile, looks or athletics. It's about the POSITIONS Newt has taken.

He's a great talker, but he's not dependable. He's a waffle. I loved Newt back in the 90's...loved him. But he's proved himself flaky since then. Too many people on both left and right get sucked in by a good speaker. Not me. I watch the actions. The actions are what marks a good executive. Newt's actions and positions have disappointed. Why would I trust him now? Because he's promising again? Nope. Ain't going for it.

Who in this race hasn’t waffled? Newt is the only one bold enough to make the changes we all want. This is it, we will be a free country or we will be a socialist state in 10 months. Right now the odds aren’t looking good for freedom.
