Then you are too young. American men never used to hug. There’s a reason for the change.

When did this happen, because I remember my brother hugging some of his high school buddies when he got back from his first tour in Vietnam. And I can remember in the late '50s, my dad hugging one of his buddies from WWII at the airport that he hadn't seen in years. I was watching a show the other day about V-E Day showing soldiers and sailors hugging back in 1945.

If you want to argue that people hug for just about any reason these days, I won't argue that. But to say that American men never used to hug is foolish.

I didn't say the man-hug was just invented recently. You remember those hugs because they were rare.

I think American men are hugging all the time now days and I think it is because they are getting comfort from each other instead of from women like it used to be. Feminism and the gay lobby working in unison.

Soon, they'll be holding hands like Islamic men do. The gay military will lead the way.
