If he wanted to be a swinger, he wouldn’t have gotten married again. Geez...let’s be logical.

flaglady47: “All that outrage against Bill Clinton’s affairs, but none for Newt’s, eh? Disgusting hypocrisy.”

I don’t recall a lot of outrage against Bill Clinton’s affairs, but I do remember outrage over the fact that the media didn’t pursue them. I also don’t recall Bill Clinton publicly confessing his affairs and/or expressing regret.

By no means whatsoever am I writing that adultery is OK. It’s a terribly selfish thing to do to one’s spouse, and it’s a sin against God. However, you don’t seem to understand the difference between repentance and denial.

"Newt admits one of the reasons he left this thing is that she didn't have the looks to be a First Lady."

I'm betting that's not true and you're being untruthful.

Even if that was his motive, he's smart enough to not say it.

I’m from GA we all know about Newt and Marianne. We all know about Newt and Jackie. We all know about Newt. The whole country knows about Newt. He has admitted to past failings. The guy has said he has asked God for forgiveness and he is trying to be a better person. If you believe in redemption then you have to give him the benefit of the doubt. He’s happily married to his current wife for 14 years or so.

I Have read Marianne Gingrich’s interview previously. She has no “bombshell” to drop on “Nightline” tonight.

Jackie Gingrich did not have cancer. She had a benign tumor. The cancer crap was MSM spin.

Setting the Record Straight - daughter Jackie Cushman

She had undergone surgery the day before to remove a tumor. The tumor was benign.

I hope your right.

I think Newt would be the most effective POTUS to wrestle this country's future back from the it's current socialist direction.

He articulates political conservatism better than anybody else at this time.

I wonder if the “reporter” asks his ex if she was the “other woman” to Newt’s first marriage?

She was. And they were separated from 1988 to 1994. In 95 she gave an interview while trying to reconcile, that she would go to the press the next day if he tried to run for President. It's posted on FR.

What part of individual responsibility do you NOT understand. That would mean his and hers. You have lost any respect I had for you in your blind hatred over a man campaigning for the office of president. You are propping up a vindictive woman who stated her sole purpose was to end his career. Now exactly why should I only thrash, trash, and bash the man, when by this woman's own words she had NO problem crawling into the same sack with him when it suited her purpose.

Furthermore I was not a party to or a witness to any of the bedding down and quite frankly the less I read or hear about is the better.

Lastly I have NOT decided which candidate I will vote for when the primary happens in my state. But IF the hypocrite Marianne thinks she is the vehicle to ward me off from voting for NEWT then once again she is a miserable FLOP... wonder IF she and that paragon of virtuous living Miss Meggy McCain have been gossiping about that mean old wicked witch Callista???? It really is something to behold to observe cellar dwellers to make it their life's work to destroy other people's career.

Oh you are right.

It was his FIRST WIFE that was not pretty enough to be First Lady.

He articulates political conservatism better than anybody else at this time.

Absolutely true. And the importance of that cannot be overemphasized. Here's comments about Monday's debate from Jay Nordlinger, editor at National Review, (AND Romney supporter)...

When Newt’s really rolling — when he’s at his best — the other candidates enjoy his remarks too. They can’t help it. They just smile and nod.

On this, I’m not wrong, I know: When Newt’s on, he is thrilling. I keep saying that in these debate notes, I realize. But it’s true. The best thing that can happen to Newt is a journalist’s decision to tangle with him, especially from the left.

Suggest he’s a racist because he talks about the dignity of work and the indignity of food stamps? He’ll clean your clock. At least in my book. Thrilling.

I smile when Newt says, “Well, as a historian, a fact-based model . . .” In a few words, he has included two of his biggest things: the phrase “as a historian” and the word “model.”

Newt rocks the house.

Hi. If you are a registered South Carolinian as I am, please reconsider. (I suspect you’re a UF fan from Dallas-Ft. Worth.)

Originally, I was for Santorum because of his supposed Christian stances. Now, I have my doubts about his trustworthiness, but that’s just me.

Somehow, Santorum reminds me too much of Romney; it’s how he talks about himself too kindly. I sense the possibility of a Romney/Santorum ticket in November and I don’t like it one bit.

Please glance at my post number 90. Thanks.

Although you said this about Newt, this is how I view Romney.

Romney is a member of the wealthy 'elite' establishment that pats each others' backs and lines each others' pockets. Gingrich is a member of the Washington political establishment that lines each others' pockets while screwing America.

Romney wants to become president to fulfill his father's dream, and doesn't particularly care about what policies he may or may not support at any particular time. Gingrich want to become president to fulfill his own ego and will argue forcefully for whatever happens to pass through his mind at any particular time.

So you see, there's a difference.

I’m ok with either one, but I do hope whomever loses out between the two in SC, will dropout, whether that’s Santorum or Newt, we need to get united against Romney, before it’s too late.

Your analysis of Newt is wholly without merit.

If he wanted to line his own pockets, he is smart enough to do it so you would never know.

Ego, mehh. Every politician has one, or they wouldn’t think they are the one who should be elected. What’s new about that?

Quite frankly, we are runnig out of time to smashmouth the non Romney candidates.

There is a country to save.

I didn't say that. I think adultery is a horrible sin. There is a reason why it is one of the ten commandments.

But it is also a forgivable sin, as Newt's supporters have so often pointed out. My problem is that he is a serial adulterer and I won't pooh-pooh the feelings of women who see him in even worse light. That's why I don't see him as electable despite his fine mind, great ideas and superb debate and presentation skills. Feelings matter.

As I've said before, he could best serve the country by being Rick Santorum's speech writer, idea man and debate coach. Rick is not the polished presenter which Newt is. But nobody ever has to wonder whether he might be a walking bimbo eruption.

Um... Newt traded on his insider connections to make several million dollars in the 15 years following his ouster as Speaker.

So... I do know about it. Everyone does.

Ego, mehh. Every politician has one, or they wouldn’t think they are the one who should be elected. What’s new about that?

Some politicians - believe it or not - balance ego with service.

Quite frankly, we are runnig out of time to smashmouth the non Romney candidates.

Absolutely, best time to bury one's head in the sand is while selecting the nominee in a crucial election.

There is a country to save.

And the best way to do it is by running a fatally flawed opponent of conservatism and handing Obama a 2nd term?

Fair enough. Just remember the notion, which I share with others, that the Elite may have been working for a Romney/Santorum ticket from the start. Thanks for your response.

The difference here is that Newt’s supporters know he has a history of being sexually twisted beginning with sexual abuse in High School and marriage as a boy to the woman. He does not hide his past (confesses it), rejects it (repents) and has worked to reconcile himself to God. Herman Cain was a compeletely different situation in that he had not admitted what he was doing (denied it and then ran away), he did not see adultery as wrong and that he never turned away from it. The horndog Clinton, like Cain, lied and never repented. Clinton went a step further claiming “everybody does it” - forces the help to have sex with them.

The media falsely claims Christians can not and will not forgive another Christian who has sinned because they don’t acknowledge repentence and spiritual forgiveness and healing. They falsely claim Christians hate and shun all sinners. This lie is central to the Gay radical agenda that if Christians don’t embrace the anal sex lifestyle, it means they HATE homos. For Christians, in reality, the examination of an individual’s nature of sin, repentance and forgiveness is much more complex than a simple one sentence slogan.

That is a central lie of secularism to make sure we have no leaders given they are all guarenteed to be sinners - some repentent and some not. All the secular media has to do to a conservative is dig up a sin and they think it’s over for that candidate. It is time we teach about repentance and forgiveness of sins.
